Good Head-lampI purchased by chance Autumn 2016 - at the spur of the moment on Amazon's Lightning Deals - but wish I had bought it long ago by choice. The elastic head-band, simple in design, fitted snug with no adjustment desired. The sagittal elastic band (the band that goes from forehead to the back, in the centre) holds the lamp from slipping down. Please note that the Amazon website shows only the circumferential band. The angle is adequate as it is for most visual tasks at arm's length and the assembly yields to mild adjustments which is adequate for me.As you would see in the pictures on Amazon website, the central 6 LEDs are white – they give a good half-a-foot diameter diffuse illumination at two feet distance, which is at arm's length (about quarter-foot across if one foot away); but it has a less illuminated frill of twice that bright zone around.Control button is located conveniently on top of the bulb assembly.First three clicks of the switch on top give dime – medium – bright illuminations. The two outside LED bulbs glow red on the fourth click. There is no annoying 'flicker' function. The three AAA cells go into a cylindrical holder that is pulled out from behind the bulb assembly: you need a 10p coin or so to twist and pull it out. I used it for over 6 hours almost continuous with no loss in intensity of light. The only 'problem' was that when I wanted to find it after about three months of purchase, I had trouble locating it: stored away beside my tool-box, overlooking the 'small box' many times as I was trying to locate it. But it adds to its value – it is compact. Can I give it 6 stars? Please note again that I PURCHASED this item and this review was not solicited – hence totally unbiased.

Excellent Head Torch!
I've been looking for a head torch to improve visibility when working on my bike. I chose this because the light can be tilted downwards, which was not possible on my current LED Lenser head torch. This also has the added benefit of two red LED's which is great for the times I'm out photographing the stars or stargazing through my telescope at night. The main white LED's are reasonably bright with the LED's thoughtfully positioned to provide a decent spread of light. There's 3 brightness setting to choose from with lowest and middle setting perfect for general home/workshop use, and the highest setting bright enough for walking the dog around dark lanes. Although, I do tend to use my more powerful LED lenser head torch for this as I like to see further into the distance. The head torch itself seems good quality, lightweight, comfortable and secure enough for jogging or running. The head strap is adjustable and fits both large and small heads - My 5 year old nephew loves to wear this. This comes with 3 batteries which last quite a while. I try to keep it on power save mode as much as possible and manage to get between 10-15 hours.Highly recommended!

Good value product
Good value product.I have used it outside to find my way along a dark track and it was good. I have used it to wire a ceiling light fitting at night when I have had to switch the main fuse off for all my downstairs lights to be able to do that and it made life so much easier. The head unit being able to click into different positions is useful for work where you are looking up a lot (like the wiring of the ceiling fitting) or down or straight ahead (walking). It is perfectly comfortable to wear for short but for me, my head did get hot on the head band when using it out walking. I don't know what it would be like for going out running (possibly a bit heavy?) but more sedentary tasks are fine. I wouldn't choose to wear it for a long period of time on my head but it is great, and liberating, to do tasks without having to balance a torch or my phone in my mouth to see!On the "cons". It's generally not as bright as I expected (but that is probably just my expectation that was wrong not the product). I don't personally see a massive difference in the brightness levels as you click through from 1 - 3. Maybe I will find a use for this in time but at the moment it just serves to make it longer to turn on / off as you have to toggle through the four modes to turn off. It's not a high quality focused LED array like from a good torch (e.g. my Led Lenser) just a basic array of individual LEDs that come on and off (as you can see on the photo). But not of this distracts from the value of the product. But it does not pretend to be a high end product so I can happily recommend it to anyone at this price point.

Great for the price, superior to some more expensive torches.
This is a good little head torch, with a couple of features not seen on some more expensive torches I've tried. The button is big and you can easily work it with gloves on, which is great in cold weather. The strap on the top of the head keeps the lamp securely in place, stopping it sliding down if you're moving about a lot. The straps are also easy to adjust and seem reasonably robust, though I suspect they'll lose some elasticity over time. The lamp runs off three small aaa batteries. A set is provided, though I've now switched to rechargeable ones. The beam is decent on all settings, and lights up a fair distance ahead on the brightest setting, covering quite a wide area. The red LED is solid red too, not flashing like on some other torches, so it's actually useable for the intended purpose of looking at things without losing night vision. You do have to cycle through all light settings to get to the red one, as there's no memory of what it was last set to, but at the price I don't mind that.

Does the job okay but with a high price tag
Can't say it is anything special. It works, and is fairly bright but not even illumination. It is comfortable, but basically at the so called reduced half price (£14.97) it is overpriced. Sent afterwards, are instructions on use and complicated information and instructions like how to put the batteries in and seven apparent uses for the red light - the only use I can see is to wear it backwards when riding a bike at night.
