Great Value, Great Product, One Third the Price of Kohler!
My father's apartment building was built in 1939 and his apartment still has the original Kohler enameled cast iron shelf-back style sink. The faucet was continuously dripping and the building super was unable to fix it and could only suggest replacing the entire sink and faucet. Not wanting to replace the entire sink I tried searching for a solution. First I contacted Kohler for replacement parts for their faucet but they were completely useless and inept. So inept that they actually told me that it wasn't their faucet (despite having the word Kohler appear on the sink, the pop-up, and the faucet. Oddly, they sell a very similar faucet today but still both their telephone and email support was not help. I refused to by a replacement faucet from Kohler because of this and because the Kohler faucet costs over $300. After a little research I found this adjustable model and one other that did not look as nice. Took a chance on this and could not be more pleased. The quality is great and the installation was simple enough. Since it is adjustable it does take some work to make it perfectly symmetrical and straight, but I am rather particular about things being as good as possible (have seen plenty of these installed somewhat crooked which is far from tragic). Saw a review where someone complained that he could not adjust it down to the advertised 4" on center size but they obviously did not read the directions... The directions say that making it that small requires cutting down both sides of the center T connector. But for the more common 5.5" size as I needed for the old Kohler shelf-back sink there was no cutting required. I did have trouble connecting the old 1939 sink's pop-up to the lever on this unit so had to fabricate a small adapter bracket. There is no way I could replace the pop-up in this old sink as is it unusual so fabricating the adapter was the way to go. The current model Kohler faucet would have connected to this pop-up without any modification but the newer Kohler pop-up would not fit the sink. Central Brass has a 5 year residential warranty for this faucet. Unfortunately the valves are not the more modern trouble free ceramic type that seem to last a lifetime, but are the traditional seated type (if with washer on the bottom. Yet the valves appear to be readily available should you ever need to replace them. Hope this helps not only save you a bundle over buying Kohler, but helps you avoid Kohler's terrible customer service.Ps. The big national chain hardware stores also carry this but they do not stock it. The two big guys both quoted about 7 day delivery times. I bought it from Amazon using free 2 day Prime shipping and it arrived the next day!

Only faucet available for 1950's systle sinks w 6inch OC
Old sink fixture was finally giving me relentless dripping and the usual faucet washer replacment was NOT of any help. This sink was probably pre-WW2 vintage and countless google searches for a fashionable wall mount with 6-inch on center replacement was darn near impossible to find. Found just this Central Brass 1177-A which spec'd out properly and reluctantly placed order even though I wasn't overly thrilled with initial appearance on Amazon web site. As usual, Amazon delivery was quick..ordered late in the week and delivery was completed on a Monday. Stayed busy spraying kroil penetrating oil on old fixture fittings and completely removed old fixture to save time. New fixture installed relatively easy and all things considered it's NOT bad looking once installed. Design still uses neoprene washers and brass seat...only time will determine durability of this new fixture.Same fixture also sold at HD and a few other online sites however Amazon was the cheapest even with shipping costs. My suggestion is to removed brass seats from each supply side and re-install both seats with a few wraps of teflon tape. If you are like me and eventualy need to service the fixture it will be easier to remove the brass seat when the usual neoprene washer replacment fails years from now. This Central Brass 1177-A save me over a thousand dollars in time and money not having to replace the original wall mounted sink. FYI, ceramic disk washerless fixtures are the way to go unless there is no alternative to the legacy washer and brass seat design.

Shelf Back Sink Faucet
This was an item I ordered to replace another faucet that is at least 40 years old in a similar vintage sink. I had found different faucet already that looked like it should have worked but didn't. This Central Brass faucet actually was less than 2/3 the price of the first one and fit the old sink like a charm. The quality of the CB faucet is first class, and arrived several days earlier than promised. Only issue was that I wanted no pop-up drain plug. The faucet came with the pop-up knob in it, but no pop-up drain. Not a big deal, but it would be better without the knob. All in all, I have been very please with everything

Works... not sure about the appearance.
I have a shelf back sink from the 50's this worked in, but doesn't look authentic to the 50's. Def looks like it's from the 70's or 80's, don't use if u want vintage look. Was pretty adjustable, looks like it would fit a bunch of hole patterns. It comes with the pull out lever for the pop up drain, but I don't like the pull out lever style and left it out of my install and purchased a separate grid drain.

Great replacement for 1950’s bathroom sink
Hard to find replacement for my 1950’s bathroom. Easy to switch out and seems to be equally as well made as the 70 year old faucet it replaces. The horizontal spread adjusts so it works perfectly on my odd-sized 1950’s enamel-covered cast iron sink.

Flow 1.5 gpm, not 2.0 gpm as given in product description!
I do not like this faucet. Product specs on product page state that this has a 2.0 gpm flow rate. Further down the page the tech specs state 1.5 gpm. Apparently,I received the 1.5 gpm. I tried to change the aerator but could not find an aerator or adapter that physically fit the given. This seems to be happening a lot lately with orders from Amazon. Things are not quite what they are described in writeup.

Difficult to find
Great product. VERY difficult to find. This was to replace a faucet that was about 60 years old. My parents checked everywhere locally, even the Habitat Restore and no one had a replacement. Plummer said he could get one, but the faucet was double the price and didn't include installation. My brother installed it for my parents and it works like a charm. No need for a new vanity/sink.
