I bought two of these for my mum as she has dementia & has beeen struggling to tell the time & the day of the week. As a still very independent woman who still manages to have a good social life & keep up her hobbies & interests despite having Alzheimer’s. She was finding it increasingly difficult to know when to meet friends or go to her walking group & other hobbies. She was finding it all very confusing & frustrating. I realised that she needed a better way to tell the time & be aware of the date. She absolutely loves it, I have placed one in her bedroom as she was getting up in the morning hours early & had no idea. The digest are large, clear & easy to read & the speaking clock is helpful for days where she gets confused by the digits all she has to do is press the button & it tells her the time in a clear voice. It also tells her the date so she can check her calendar & know what she’s doing for that day. I have placed the second one in the sitting room for that reason. It comes with 2 volumes one of which is very loud which is helpful for anyone who is hard of hearing. It is quite attractive to look at which is good because she doesn’t mind it being in her sittingroom. It is good quality & very easy to operate. The alarm is also easy to set up & I use this to help her know when to leave the house to meet people & when to get up. When ordering this I found it a bit on the expensive side however I feel now having seen the difference it has made to her day to day life it is worth every penny. The only thing that would improve it, would be displaying the day of the week as well as the date.

I got this as a gift for my neighbour who has sadly been loosing his sight for the past few years. His alarm clock had broken and he never ever knew what the time was aside from when it went off for his 1 alarm set. I just took this over and set it up, it's probably the 1st time in over a year he knew the time and date without having to ask. He was so overwhelmed at this small step of independence that he had tears welling up in his eyes. The 30 minutes I was there he kept reaching out to play the time and date he was beyond ecstatic. Finally he could know the time whenever he liked and the date. Really simple bit of kit, very easy for me to set up for him. The voice is clear and easy to understand, the buttom easy to find on top and easy to press. Brilliant, best money I've spent on someone else, cheap price to pay for some independence and dignity for someone who otherwise has to rely on others without wanting to. Definitely reccomend. Amazing.

Perfect. Purchased as a birthday present for my Mother who loves it. She can see the display, and comfortable hear the speaking clock. Very easy to setup. Two levels of volume which are excellent . Means if tv volume is higher than normal you can still hear the clock on loudest setting . The clock is good value and an excellent asset for the elderly. I very highly recommend this product and the seller.

It’s a fantastic product. Better than expected

My Mum is down to just 30% vision in one eye now, and that has a cataract on it so seeing things is not an easy thing for her. The clock she had was no good anymore so she tasked me with finding one for her. I know from experience I see better when it's white-on-black so when I saw this I thought it would be worth giving it a try. The addition of the voice activation also made it appealing, as I thought if she can't see the time she only needs to tap the top. Thankfully she can see it perfectly, and in fact yesterday when I saw her asked me if I would turn down the brightness as at night it lights up the room. She tells me the numbers are clear to read, and whilst she has caught the voice activation button when reaching across for her water bottle, she's not had to use it for the time because of how well the display is lit. She can even see the date numbers and they are in orange. She said the only downside for her, is that even with the voice activation on the quieter mode it is still too loud for her, however, this also makes it an ideal clock for someone who is hearing impaired. For my Mum to be pleased it really must be good.

Quality product that’s easy to use. The buttons for set up are well marked and intuitive. I didn’t need to read the instructions to set it up but it came with clear instructions printed in large fonts that are easy to read! One large simple button for the vision impaired user to find and press. The option to turn the display on, off and dim is a nice feature. Really appreciate that this can be powered by electricity with battery option for travel. The clock will keeps its settings when temporarily unplugged - bonus! Anyone who’s set a talking clock knows the value of this feature. This is the 5th talking clock that I’ve purchased for a blind, elderly person and so far it is worth the price.
