Hired by a wealthy Los Angeles family to investigate the cause of a disturbing supernatural illness, a team of paranormal experts trace the affliction's origin to a long-hidden family grave, but the process of exhuming the remains unleashes deadly consequences buried underneath. Review: Great movie! - This movie is good! Added to my favorites for sure. The story was so good and the actors did amazing. Never seen a story like this one and i'm happy I did. Delivery was good no issues with anything Review: One Of The Best In Korean Horror Cinema - Exhilarating and superbly presented entry in Korean cinema, Exhuma (2024) is one of the best Korean horror films and one of my favourite films of the year. This is the type of horror film that is most effective and terrifying when you don't know what to expect, so I will just say if you like complex supernatural mysteries, Asian ghost stories, Japanese myth, an atmosphere of dread, all with a touch of historical subtext, chances are you will enjoy this. If you liked the intense, occult thriller The Wailing (2016) there is definitely a chance you will like this too, although that film was more over the top, personally I found Exhuma a bit more entertaining. This was an all around well made, remarkably exciting and ultimately very satisfying movie. Well Go USA 's Blu-ray also includes a very brief making-of featurette, and trailers. Highly recommended to fans of Asian horror films. Also recommended: Train To Busan (2016), Rampant (2018), the American movie Hereditary (2018), Emergency Declaration (2022) and The Childe (2023)- the last two aren't horror movies but are thrilling fun.

Amazing Film About a Little-Known Field of Study
This film has a great script, acting, and plot resolution, its SUPER scary, but my favorite aspect of it was learning about geomancy. The role of superstition in city planning (of all things) is something I've never really thought about, being from a Western monotheistic culture. It was so interesting to learn that geomancer is not only a real job title but a very revered and important one historically in Korea. Adding a SPOILER for the next paragraph due to explaining the exact premise of the film, though I don't believe it will actually spoil the experience and might provide historical context that raises your interest in watching. SPOILER** Geomancy is important in Korea due to attempts at cultural and religious erasure by occupying forces over the centuries. Exhuma explores the tradition of geomancing secret, private gravesites for deceased Koreans, which became necessary and lucrative in the early 1900s when it was against the law to break Japanese burial customs. **SPOILER

So so
A bit overrated, had to hit the fast forward a few times. I didn't find any of the characters very interesting.

An very good film. Very suspenseful. A group of people are tasked with assisting a family remove an entity that is haunting the family. To do so the group has to excavate the family burial and discover what has caused the curse. It is a Korean film which gives insight into traditional Korean burials. This is a good suspenseful horror film, well acted and beautifully photographed. A surprising find and I really liked it.
