Fortunately I replaced my 10+ yr old helmet with this strong lightweight helmet a few months ago to go go on a 100 mile ride without incident but two weeks ago crashed when I stood up to get increased speed and my shoe clip slipped off the pedal and my handlebars jerked to the right at 20+ mph and I was thrown off sustaining a right clavicle,scapular and 3rd rib fractures....wow what pain...but no head injury due to this helmet...no concussion...helmet intact! Highly recomme

My wife said she did not need a helmet, that it looked silly and felt weird. I convinced her to wear the Airflow anyway.Well on her first ride with it she crashed and her head bounced off the ground...no head damage, but numerous abrasions on her leg.Do you have a helmet for the rest of the body?

UPDATE 7/22/2020 - Today, I flipped over my bars on the road portion of a gravel ride. At about 16 mph, I locked up the front wheel, and was catapulted head-first over the bars. I landed on the crown of my head then rolled onto my back and the back of my head skidded against the pavement. The helmet took the brunt of the impact. I was able to walk away from this accident. I went right to urgent care and am happy to report that although I am bruised on my back, my head and neck are 100% FINE. I have full range of motion and no concussion. Although this helmet lacks MIPS, it absolutely saved me from grievous injury or death today. Pictures attached. Compared to the Louis Garneau that it replaced (after a serious impact), this is about 10% smaller all around. I'm a short guy and a big helmet looks ridiculous on me. No mushroom-head here, I am very happy to report.The matte surface feels velvety smooth. The seams between outer shell and inner foam is seamless. You definitely FEEL like you got your money's worth. After about 3 rides, I can say the ventilation is excellent. Pads compress very little over a ride and seem to handle head expansion (due to heat) without any tightening. This was a big problem with my old helmet.The chin strap is very comfortable, doubly so due to the velcro pad that goes over the straps. The straps have quick adjusters on them, so you'll get your fit down in about 15 minutes and you can fine tune during a ride. I;ve actually been able to adjust with one hand without getting off the bike -- they are THAT easy to use.I wish the helmet had more reflective material on it ... but I understand that is not the trend these days, so I get the reason for this. However, if a few optional reflective stickers that matched the style of the helmet were included in the box, it would be perfect. I imagine the white helmet would probably be more reflective than matte black, but white wasn't available when I purchased this.

I am an avid mountain biker and at 34 suffered a severe traumatic brain injury. I had to park the bike for 2 summers. Now that I'm back in the swing of things I started researching helmets and impact ratings. This helmet for the price is amazing. It fits great and is fully adjustable. Looks sporty with a removable visor and the airflow is great as well. After searching and finding helmets for $80+ the reviews on this one are great and so is the price for the impact rating. Customer service is also A+. I highly recommend this product for anyone and especially if you have suffered a head injury. Worth the money.

An absolutely fantastic helmet! The strap system is the cleanest and most comfortable I've ever worn. And I thought the box was empty upon arrival, this thing is crazy lightweight. I haven't crashed with it yet, so no testament to survivability, but so far I've loved every second in it.

My first reaction to this helmet was negative based on how light it was. I was wrong. It is light but it is not weak. I have no doubt my head is protected. The airflow across my head is awesome. I ride my bike to work and really don't want to be a sweaty mess when I get there. This helmet is perfect for that.

I really wanted to like this helmet. It worked well for roughly one month. Then the chin strap broke off, so I have it tied in a knot to keep from falling off. Something I would expect from a $10-$20 helmet, but this helmet costs a lot more, and now I'm already looking for a different one. It is light-weight, but is bulky. Overall, I can't recommend this as it costs too much for something with such a cheap and easily breakable chin strap.Update:TeamObsidian contacted me regarding my issues with the helmet. They were very kind and thorough with making sure their product is meeting customers (like me) expectations. They are sending me another helmet, which I look forward to trying again and using on my daily commute. Overall, I would recommend this company as it is standing behind it's products!

just looking at the lines of this helmet, i can see the company's #1 concern is safety.(so far so good: no crashes ... yet i sense it will protect me better if i do go down.)it's light and stylish ... but seems stronger ... maybe because of its design?so well done, guys!!all my future helmets will be yours ...p.s.: it fits like a glove, with or without a skull cap or wool hat ...A+++++100% x 10

The helmet arrived very fast, in a great package and in perfect condition.It is extremely light, which makes you wonder at first, but I've already tested it on the long run and I'm happy to say that it remained comfortable and light even after I used it for a few hours.The shape is also very aerodynamic and the inside assures a good grip and a comfortable positioning.The safety straps are also easy to adjust and to secure and they are very comfortable as well. I find this very important as I used to have a helmet that was scratching my skin with its straps and it was a great pain to wear it.i'm also happy I chose the white color because it doesn't heat up while wearing it on sunny days.I definitely recommend this product. It's worth every cent!!!

I bought this helmet as my then current helmet had become uncomfortable to wear and seemed to have a design flaw that finally I couldn't put up with any longer. I wanted a helmet that was both comfortable and afforded protection. TeamObsidian claim this will be the most comfortable helmet you will ever wear. I can't say how accurate that is other than it is the most comfortable I have worn to date. Adjustment was a doddle and the knob to tension the interior straps is large enough to grip with cycling gloves on, yet not so big as to be unwound by the collar on your jacket (which was the case with my old helmet.As far as protection is concerned it does seem well constructed and fits well which goes a long way, however until you need it to work you will not know how much protection it affords.

The helmet arrived promptly and was as described. I use this for mountain biking and as such wanted a helmet that had a little more protection than my previous one which this does. The helmet fits well and is easy to adjust with a push in clip for securing rather than a buckle. The peak clips in with small pegs though I am not sure how well this will hold up when I next fall off but the rest of the helmet seems to be fit for purpose.Happy with the helmet and the prompt delivery.

I have just returned to cycling after many years absence. Now, for safety reasons, I need a safety helmet. What is best?. My choice of this particular helmet could not have been better. Safety strong, extremely light, comfortable and smart looking. Well done TeamObsidian.

This is the lightest helmet I've had. It's well vented, comfortable fit, easily adjustable, and my wife says it looks good! Seems to be sturdy, haven't tested it with any head on pavement yet and hopefully I won't have to.
