The MT28 Pinless Moisture Meter provides quick relative moisture detection for leaks, flooding, and building materials without penetrating the surface. Using an electromagnetic scanning pad, the MT28 measures moisture to help you locate damp areas that may lead to mold or structural damage.

Non-Destructive Detection: Measures relative moisture content from the surface down to a depth of ≤20 mm (≈0.75 inches) using an electromagnetic field — no pins to insert, no damage to tested surfaces.
Early Mold Prevention: Ideal as the first step in mold prevention — quickly check suspicious water stains and damp spots around the home. The MT28 helps identify wet areas that are perfect breeding grounds for mold (note: it detects moisture, not mold directly).
Multi-Material Modes: Easily switch between testing modes for wall surface, masonry, hardwood, and softwood with the MODE button to get more reliable relative readings for different materials.
Factory Reset: Press and hold the HOLD button for 5 seconds to restore factory settings.
Operation Tips & Interference Notes:
- Keep your fingers on the green rubber grips and clear of the sensor scanning pad to avoid false readings — nearby metal, nails, workbenches, or even your hand can affect the results.
- Because the sensor penetrates up to ~0.75 inches, wetter materials located beneath the tested surface can influence readings. For best results, scan multiple adjacent spots and compare relative values.
