Sturdy construction
Much heavier construction than previous food waste composter. We've only had it for a short time now but it seems built to last, higher torque motor (brushless), working great so far. Larger capacity bucket nice also.

needs more tips with it
I like it and would buy it again but you can't let the stuff set as soon as it is done you need to dump it as it gets really hard in the bottom I also sprayed it with pam so it wouldn't stick so bad and that seems to help your stuff needs to be dry I put a whole pear in it and it made it a little to wet so I am careful how much fruit I put in it I like it and it does a really good job no smell at all

Solid and sleek machine
This was my first foray into automatic composting. This is a beast of a machine (heavy, 26lbs) but good looking (this helps since you need this somewhat handy so you remember to use it) and with helpful instructions and tips for usage (the stickers are a totally nice touch).Assembly easy, and the carbon is loose so you pour it in so it had a little powder residue that was easy to wipe away (tested another with slightly more expensive premade filters). It's a fairly large size (5L capacity, larger than my other test) and the internal ceramic composting bin is heavy and solid. However, it seems like you either fill it up slow (daily small stuff, like coffee grounds), or super fast (big night cooking veggie stew). Generally, even with the filters for odor, don't let it sit too long.Big thing you might not know getting into this is that to get best results for the organic option (the full compost option), you'll need some Compost Starter (or what the picture refers to as "Bio-organisms for fermentation, Not Included"). You can get it from your hardware stores but you might want to do a search before you go in. With it coming spring, this will be easier to find. That stuff stinks, but once you run with the VEVOR, the smell goes away. This is very simple to use. Run time will vary greatly, both between what options you choose but mostly on what you put into it and how much. Just like outdoor composting, you will still want to consider ratios of moisture/dry scraps, hardness/softness, etc. Overall, expect to run this several hours (mine were between 5 to 8), so maybe keep this somewhere close enough to remember to use it but maybe not right next to the sink. I saw someone note that if you don't take out the compost after it's done, it tends to hardcake at the bottom and this is true. Also, because of the removable/cleanable blades, upending the ceramic bin to get the compost out means you need to watch your fingers when the blades tumble free. Those blades are sharp.End notes are: This is a good, sturdy, easy to use machine. Good intro to indoor automatic composting. Pretty low and easy investment and not a ton of expensive maintenance built in.But before you jump on a fairly large (both $$ and space) investment, think hard on how you want to compost. This will still require you to observe basic composting rules and regular usage, or else you have a really expensive place for the apple peels to mold. If you commit to keeping up on things, I think the VEVOR is a good machine. That sleek exterior maybe will keep someone more excited to keep using it (it's way prettier than the other test we have) and that's the key.

No complaints!
This has been trugging along just fine for us, and I am BEYOND excited to have a decent amount of compost for the upcoming spring! It is a little heavy, but really any type of composter is going to be.It works well at controlling odors, too, which is something I have had issues with in the past with other ones that we have tried. I have no problem keeping it right in the kitchen, and smell is never an issue, at least for us. We mostly do kitchen scraps, too, which can be a HUGE odor maker. Not the case here.

Quiet and efficient
So far so good....reduces a bucketful of scraps to a nice fine compost. I have learned the hard way to take the strings off my teabags though! It helps if you break down the waste into smaller chunks. Set up was easy, but the side blades are a little difficult to slide back into place.

So far so good
This is nice for Winter months, or for anyone who can’t compost on their own property. It looks nice, it’s solid, and my experience is that I can collect without an odor for a few days, before running it. You will need to order the media/bacteria separately, or it won’t work correctly!

Stinks Horribly - Soaks Up Power - Takes Forever - Just Makes Sloppy Goop
Yes, I'm using this correctly. Precisely according to the instructions. I've even owned a competing brand of electrified, heated desiccant device before - the big brand that got all the attention. So I know about how these perform and I know all about the smell and the huge amount of electricity they use and all those issues. But this particular one, the "VEVOR" brand, is just awful. And I take no joy in staying this. I was hopeful it was a more value-oriented alternative to that big name brand composter that would do about the same thing, but I was wrong. It's just awful. It really stinks no matter what kind of bio trash I put into it. And it stinks for a long time. I mean literally. It has a horrid smell that is worse than the other composter I previously owned. And this one applies more heat according to wattage ratings. And it really soaks the power. It has tripped a 15-Amp circuit breaker twice now. I'm afraid to go look at my electric meter when this thing is running for fear it's spinning like a top.The heat coming off of it is a lot more than either of my high-wattage countertop air fryers - both types, an internal bowl-shaped one, and a toaster-oven shaped one. Those things stay cool compared to this little furnace of a composter, and that heat is -not- welcome in the summer in Florida. And what's left when it says the cycle is done? Goop. Slop. Just mushy but not dried material that still has atrocious odor and is decidedly -not- any kind of compost. This simply does not work. The other one sort-of worked, mostly, and I had high hopes for this one. But it's just not even close to doing what it's advertised to do. Based on my personal experience with this machine, I do NOT recommend it. In fact, I strongly recommend AGAINST getting one. I would not wish these problems on others.
