Amazing and safe!!!
I have an old school mandolineand have used it for years. However, I've always feared loosing a fingertip or two. No more fear!!! Additionally my old mandoline also had several inserts for julienning. No more - These blades are built-in and easy to put into use. I have used it for making a mirepoix in just minutes. Quckly slicing potatoes and onions for a potatoes au gratin! It's so fast and fun. Seems to also be vrey sturdy. My only wish is that it had bigger opening for the deliver chute and receptical for the output. If a bigger version comes out, I'm sure I'll be lining up to buy it.

The perfect SAFE mandolin!
I’ve owned one mandolin slicer in my life. When I cut the tips of 4 fingers and had to endure the ordeal of their slow healing, I swore I’d never own another. Until I saw a cooking video using a slicer similar to this one. It is sharp, producing quick and easy slices from thin to thick easily, and the adjustable blade (from 1 to 8) is simple. I will tell you there is a bit of a learning curve with the julienne blades, but I’ll learn how they work eventually. Right now I’ve made scalloped potatoes and sliced cucumbers for pickling and it couldn’t be easier. It has 4 parts, the chute, the pusher, the mandolin blade, and the container to catch whoever you’re slicing. The parts disassemble for easy storage, taking up little space in my cabinet. I like how it can be thrown into the dishwasher or rinsed in the sink and allowed to dry. But above all that, it keeps the fingers clear of the slicing blades. I highly recommend this product to anyone.

Very easy to use, effortless slicing
This makes vegetable prep a breeze. The chute is a bit small and the upright design makes it’s difficult to get vegetables oriented for the prettiest cuts, but the convenience and compact size make up for that. For daily meals, slicing onions is so quick and it’s dishwasher safe.

Love it but flawed
Update: after slicing a few different vegetables I unfortunately need to change this from 5* to 3*. It has a serious and quite obvious design flaw. The food moves. Because the slicer is angled and the shoot is angled, unless you cut both ends of your vegetable at roughly the same angle, the food will move and can turn what you want to be diced onion into onion slivers/slices. Not a huge deal to angle the ends except when it comes to less rigid produce, such as green onions. It is horrible with green onions. They move so much that I ended up with pieces that looked more julienne than sliced. And they clogged the top a lot! This is something that should have been very obvious if it was tested even once. Since I'm sure it was tested multiple times with multiple kinds of produce, I can only conclude that the issue is known and was intentionally ignored. I still really like the concept and it is great if you're doing rigid items that can be cut at an angle. Original: This thing is a game changer!! Flew through slicing fresh carrots like it was nothing! I've cut myself way too often on traditional mandolines. Never again! Cleaning was easy, instructions were easy, use was easy. Amazing all around! And the little suction cups are fantastic!

Pretty much does the job for me....
It didn't occur to me that this slices things at an angle. So be aware. I like the slice adjustments on the back of the unit. It takes some trian and error to get what you want.............. thickness, thinness, and slicing in a matchstick style. I bought thi to use for slicing potatoes for deep frying and found another use it for it to slice carrots and apples for critter feed in the winter. Works great. I found using a Magic Eraser will clean the stain carrots tend to leave behind on the slicing plate. I wish mine had a little wider slot to put the food into like apples and potatoes. I find I have to slice the sides off to get it through. I see they do make are larger size and may buy that once the slicing blade become dull.......
