Definitely for beginners. Quality was OK not as sharp as I needed but good enough for my younger son to practice with great value for the money.

I'm getting back into scale modeling and needed some tools; the hobby has changed quite a bit and people use a lot more now than just a hobby knife and sandpaper. This kit was a convenient way to get a pile of tools affordably and quickly. Amazon did right by me and got it to me in one day, and unlike the experience one of the other reviewers faced, the set variant I ordered is the one I received. It is exactly what it looks like: a collection of simple tools of average quality, but they do work and will get you started. I have already used the sprue cutters, mat, filing boards, and metal files in my first project. I made the joke to someone that many of the tools modelers use are the same as the ones a nail salon uses, and it's totally true here. In fact, the little motorized rotary sander tool is actually a nail polishing tool and even labeled that way. It's ok, it works and may be useful in some builds. Other notes: - The screwdrivers and hobby knife are fine, though I already had those and my own were of superior quality. - The sanding boards and metal files are handy. - The general purpose knife is just a thin metal sleeve around a set of disposable blades. It's pretty flimsy but if you're careful with it, it can do some work. - The pin vise and precision screwdriver set I haven't used yet, but they look like they'll work ok. I had a precision screwdriver set already from my cell phone repair tools kit; if they had a variant of the kits that omitted the screwdrivers for a few bucks less I'd have probably bought that instead. - The cutting mat seems pretty standard among what I see modelers using, I'd have preferred a larger one but this will work fine. - The finger guards are a nice touch. I hadn't really considered that for modeling, but they're not a bad idea for when your hobby knife slips while cutting. - The sprue cutter works great, but I can see myself adding another higher precision one with a longer and thinner nose for harder-to-reach parts. - The needle nose pliers are good; I had one already but it doesn't hurt to have one dedicated for modeling. These are really useful for things like the Metal Earth kits. Both the sprue cutter and pliers have high-visibility yellow handles. - The little mallet is nice, I can foresee needing that for some applications. - The hobby knife with the saw blades seems ok, I haven't used it yet. It might be really handy for conversions and customizing, I don't think I'll use it much for stock builds. - The tweezer variety is good, these should be quite useful. - I like that there are containers to hold the items (the precision screwdriver set has its own box, and there's one more for all the knives, tweezers, and smaller items). They are just simple plastic boxes and I don't know how long they'll last, but I like having a place to keep all the items together. When you first get the kit the general items box is bulging but once you remove the tweezers and other items from their individual packaging everything will fit better. A good purchase overall that will work for most. You'd only avoid this if you already had the tools or needed higher quality hobby knives.

Its worth it for the sprue cutter. Small parts? No problem. Smal snag that prefents fit? Gone. Rest is in product description.

Worked well so far. I like the sanding sticks and the nipping tool is top notch. No issues.

Not the highest quality items but they all do what they are supposed to do.

The hand drill has a poor design. The inside is basically hollow, so the bit keeps sliding back into the drill while you’re using it. There should be an internal stop or wall to keep the bit in place. Because of this, it’s frustrating to use and not reliable for real work.

Great box for hobby starters

I didn't read fully what came in this box, I saw the items I needed and got it..but wow what fun! This box was packed with all sorts of things, the stuff I wanted plus more. My partner came into the room and was looking through saying cool! And oh this is cool. So many handy little tools. My favourite was the little sanding machine because its actually for your nails but you can use it for model making, however I'm keeping it for my nails as a treat. My partner nicked the cute little screwdrivers and is obsesses with the manual hand drill and drill bits. Really cute and fun. Absolutly love it. The tools are of good quality and come with storage boxes which is great as they are small and the blades are safe in a box. Such a handy little set. I love the blades and pliers, and the cute little saw. Thats what I wanted to make diorama bits. Theres also handy little finger guards which is great to protect your fingers, but I have no doubt my kid will rob that to turn into a finger puppet. Ultimately this box is fun for all the family.

Perfektes modelbau werkzeug

Utilizei o kit para a montagem de um modelo gunpla e a principio atendeu as expectativas. Não utilizei todas as peças do kit, pois não achei necessário. Achei de grande utilidade, para este fim, o alicate e as facas artísticas, porém na descrição diz que vem 5 laminas e para mim só veio uma lamina extra. No mais, vale bastante a pena e serviu ao propósito, o preço também é bastante favorável.
