Build quality is very good, the whole thing is powder coated and the removable internal base is stainless steel - it looks classy - The lock and seals are good quality. Installation needs a hammer drill and masonry bit and a screwdriver - a spirit level helps as well.The kit includes a full sized template and all the bits you need - screws and plugs, standoffs etc. Our house is stone built so the walls aren't smooth. This make fitting a bit harder since I had to chisel a couple of lumps off the wall and adjust the length of one of the standoffs to compensate for a broader bulge!. Even on a smooth wall you have to use the standoff or the lid can't open properly. A second pair of hands to hold the box steady while you get the screws and standoffs into position is really helpful!The box has been in place for a year in a place where rain can get to it. In that time the only reason a few bits of post have been damp is because they were damp before the postie put them in! The slit at the top can take an A4 magazine sideways and it nigh on impossible to get fingers in and pull something out - the monkey/peanuts in a jar trap!I've read a complaint about the lock failing and hence it being impossible to get the box back off the wall. Having used the box for so long I would offer the following comments;I thought my lock had jammed but after some experimentation I realised that the door is so well fitting (so that the door is firmly held against the seals) so it remains watertight. My solution is to press the door closed (fairly gently) near the lock when locking it. If you do find the lock has jammed so you can't access the fixing screws and so can't send the box back for a replacement/refund, then although it's going to be fiddly there is enough room to get a hacksaw blade between the back of the box and the wall and saw through each of the screws.This is definitely not a cheap box, but the money has gone into build quality and waterproofing and not just flashy design. I have no regrets buying it!

A really well made and stylish mail box that arrived well before time. Easy to fit and looks great.

Although expensive, the build quality and practical design represent good value. After lots of research I have no regret in purchasing this item.

This is a considered purchase. For the function (a post box), it is expensive but worth every penny. If you compare this to the nearest High street version in any of the Big DIY stores, they just don't compare.It's heavy, the paint is deep, the hinges and stops look well manufactured and the look is sturdy. Even the instructions are well written and detailed enough for a tech geek (and it's only a letterbox!) And it looks stunning.!The capacity is big and can handle big envelopes - well over A4. Because of the quality of paint, any dust or water just beads and drips off.I would recommend using a car wax to further protect it and that is just me being pedantic.This was bought to last and it will.

This looks really nice on our wall, very modern and good quality. Confused the postman a bit at first but they got used to it! Generally it holds a good amount of post. Not sure how you would go on if you went on holiday for 2 weeks and didn’t have someone to empty it. It just about fits an A4 envelope in and small packet parcels fit in fine. Easy to open and close with a small key on the side

It's easy to fit; it doesn't let water in.; A4 envelopes go in easily. I don't know what 'sheerness' is so can't rate that.It looks good outside my very old cottage even if modern. So all good as far as I'm concerned,

Spent a long time selecting this box, when received we installed it and within less than a week the lock froze, no shifting it. Obviously you cannot access the fittings to remove from wall, so stuck. Contacted customer services who were less than helpful, their solution, spray oil in the lock, we tried this and no movement. Contacted them again 3 times before they respond with, drill the lock out and we will send you a new one, or return it and order a new one! So if I drill it out and damage the box what do I do and I cant get it off the wall without destroying it, and then re-order? complete rubbish and no apology from them what so ever.I would not recommend this company on the basis of the awful customer service, this product is not cheap so I would expect it to be a little more reliable, perhaps with a better quality locking system.

My builder ordered my new front door with out a letter box so had to get a mail box. After searching the Internet came across this one,bit expensive compared to others I’d seen but wanted a quality item. This came direct from Germany within 4 days great quality easy to fit and a real quality mail box well worth the money really pleased with this purchase.
