A premium case that combines style, comfort, and protection
After using the Pitaka iPhone case for more than a week now, I can confidently say it’s one of the best cases I’ve ever owned. Crafted from 600D aramid fiber, it feels incredibly luxurious and smooth to the touch. Despite its lightweight design, it offers robust protection, wrapping securely around my iPhone 16 pro max and shielding it from daily wear and tear, including accidental drops. One of my favorite things about this case is how sleek and slim it is. Unlike many other cases that add unnecessary bulk, the Pitaka case maintains the iPhone’s original slim profile, making it easy to slide into a pocket or bag. The precision of the cutouts is also worth mentioning—every port and button is perfectly accessible, and the case fits like a glove. The aramid fiber material not only adds to its aesthetics but also improves grip, so the phone feels secure in my hand without being slippery. It has a subtle matte finish that resists fingerprints and smudges, keeping it looking clean and professional at all times. Another big plus is the MagSafe feature which allows for effortless charging and attachment without removing the case. The magnetic alignment is strong and reliable, so I never have to worry about my charger slipping or accessories not holding firmly. It’s perfect for anyone who values a premium, minimalist design while still wanting reliable phone protection. I’d highly recommend it to anyone looking to upgrade their case—you won’t be disappointed!

Pitaka does it... again
Just upgraded my iPhone. I bought two cases - the Urban Armor and this Pitaka one. I've owned Pitaka cases and mounts for at least 5-6 years, and bought them for every iPhone and iPad I've owned iun this time. I've been pleased with most, disappointed by a couple. This particular case, is definitely among the best - not just from Pitaka, but best I've used. The fit - as always - is impeccable. The spacing at the bottom around the ports and microphone are exact. Same around the camera. The feel is soft. There are other cases with aramid texture, which I actually prefer, but this case is soft without feeling slippery. The edge is very slightly elevated around the edge to protect the glass. I'm using an UltraGlass screen protector, and there is a good 1-1.5mm ridge around the edge. The main reasons I preferred this case over the Urban Armor (which by the way is $64!) are: bulk, and the size of the ridge which on UAG I found to be too high. Swiping up from the bottom was difficult and required retries too many times. (Separate review on this). The Pitaka cases generally protect well, but I've bought the ultra slim ones in the past and regretted it. So this case is a good balance between slimness and protection. Also I have an iPhone 16 PM for work for which I bought another Pitaka case (the one with "caseless" feel and a sliver ridge around the camera). That ridge feels sharp compared to the one on this new case. I much prefer this one. Most of all the case looks incredibly high end and stylish. The buttery smooth finish belies its strength. For a case that protects as well as it does you’ll be amazed that it doesn’t feel at all bulky. An OtterBox killer, in my view. Overall, I highly recommend this case. It balances look, feel and protection extremely well. Can't go wrong.

Pitaka case for iPhone 16 Pro Max military grade.
The precision in which the case has been developed, is exact, allowing access to all areas of the phone. The case provides complete Protection when placing the camera face down and during drops.. The camera lenses are protected with a raised metal lip, which allows the phone to be placed safely down screen up. I have installed an x5 stronger invisible shield glass elite screen protector, which causes no issue with the raised front bezel. Napa leather lines the inside of the case protecting the phone from scratches. Metal buttons covers, which are lined, provide precision touch response. All cut outs including the speaker grills are lined up perfectly, as is the USB cut out, allowing accessories to be placed on this unit with ample room for USB connectors. They have shaved the top of the case, ever so slightly allowing that speaker to be unobstructed. The new camera button cut out is precise. It could be slightly more rigged on the screen bezel, but causes no issue using the button and is actually more comfortable with the softness of the TPU. I have purchased the Pitaka ultraslim case as well, however, I have used it only a few times due to the small form factor of the military grade case, as I switch them out quite regularly. This is somewhat unusual, but pleasantly surprising. The texture provides a smooth yet nonslip surface and is extremely comfortable to hold. The magnets are even stronger than previous generations and that together with the slim board technology allows the phone to charge just as if it didn’t have a case. MagSafe accessories attached to the back of the caseeven better than before. I test all cases with a small table drop prior to daily carry. It maintain its integrity and stayed on the phone perfectly whichpassed as expected with no issues. The case is aesthetically pleasing and extremely slim. I am extremely satisfied with this case and recommend it highly..

Pitaka quality keeps getting better!
I am very used to Pitaka lightweight cases. Each year I upgrade my phone, each year I buy a Pitaka Ultra Slim case. This year the slim cases have more protection than ever, covering more of the phone, and they feel more secure. This military-grade case is built differently. It is more padded, has a higher, more secure lip to protect the screen, but still has the same Pitaka quality. All of the cutouts on this case are so precise. The button covers do a great job protecting the phone but still feel great. For the protection this case provides, it does not feel very heavy. My wife tends to get more secure cases for her phones than I typically do, and none that she has gotten previously have had this weight and security combination. The one thing I wish was different about this case is the finish. This case is really smooth. I have been using two different Pitaka Ultra Slim cases the Ocean and the Sunset. The Ocean case has such a great raised feel across the whole case. I find myself running my fingers across the case when it’s sitting on a table. I hope they keep this Ocean case with this feel for years to come, I am a huge fan. The Sunset case has less of a raised feel but it still has a pattern that provides something to feel, a nice texture. This black military-grade case is just smooth. I get a little worried when I am taking it out of my pocket as I feel there is a chance I may drop it. Appropriately, if I do drop it I am almost certain it will be fine due to the level of care Pitaka puts into their products. The fit of this case is perfect on my phone, the lip around the screen is a great height without getting in the way. The cut-outs are very precise. Also, the installation of the case is super simple. There is a bit of a technique for removing the case, but once you have done it once it’s pretty easy. I recommend this case for anyone that can appreciate Pitaka’s great build quality and feel they need more protection than can be accommodated by one of Pitaka’s slim cases.

Superior Build Quality And Thoughtful Design
I have been purchasing Pitaka products for my personal use and gifting them since my iPhone 6 back in 2014. That gives me a decade of experience, and puts me in a unique place to review not only the quality of the products, but also the customer service and evolution of the brand. I have purchased many items during that timeframe, including a charger and case still in use for an iPhone X I use for work. About a month ago, I upgraded my personal phone from a 14 Pro Max to the 16 Pro Max. So of course I needed to get a new Pitaka case. Having enjoyed the military grade protection on the 14, I opted for it again for my new iPhone. Right out of the box I was pleased. There were numerous product enhancements made over the previous version that I immediately noticed. Subtle, yet important differences like how the edges around the bezel surrounding the screen were rounded over now. In the previous version, even after two years of use, those edges remained somewhat sharp to the touch and uncomfortable to hold against your ear for a prolonged period of time. Now it is extremely smooth and comfortable against the face. The quality of the blend of materials from the aramid fiber on the backside to the material that hold the phone in place is more refined. The buttons themselves are a much higher quality and are metal now. They feel substantially better, and so much easier to use than the older model’s rubber buttons. You really had to press hard on the old ones. These just work as they should. The camera bump is also more refined and symmetrical, giving the back a cleaner look, while maintaining superior protection to the camera lenses. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with this purchase. A solid 4 3/4 stars if that were a thing. Just buy it already! There are barely two ‘cons’ worthy of mention in my opinion. One is a personal preference, and the second one we’ll need some time to see how it plays out. The first is how they went to printing the full name ‘Pitaka’ on the backside vs. the smaller company logo. It is done well, and isn’t ostentatious. My preference when it comes to branding leans more towards subtlety, so I’ll leave it at that. The other area of concern for me- and it is new to all of us, involves that new side button for the camera. When picking up the device, I tended to grab and squeeze the area exactly where this new button is positioned. So for about two weeks, I kept unintentionally engaging the camera. I am now consciously trying to pick it up at about the middle of the sides to avoid turning the camera on every time. That’s on me. But what does this have to do with a con regarding the case you ask? That is precisely my second point. With the military protection grade case, there is a piece of unreinforced rubber that goes along the top of the button, parallel to the screen. When I was picking the phone up in the previous manner, right over the button, I can feel that rubber piece stretch upward every time. It feels too flexible for a case of this strength and quality. My concern is that, in time, this could tear and expose a part of the topside of the case next to the screen. Not only would it be unsightly, it could leave about a one inch gap of the top edge unprotected. My initial thought was if they old mold a piece of wire or plastic in there to increase the rigidity that would solve the problem. For now, all is good, and in the event this worst-case scenario plays out, I am confident the world-class customer service team at Pitaka will make it right.

All round great protective case with great texture!
The Military-Grade Protective Case for the iPhone 16 Pro Max strikes a balance between premium aesthetics, durability, and functionality. Here’s a breakdown which I hope will help inform your decision to make a purchase and help support a great company! Pitaka continues its tradition of using aramid fiber, a material known for its lightweight and durable properties. The case feels luxurious yet sturdy, maintaining a slim profile that aligns with the sleek design of the iPhone 16 Pro Max. Its minimalist design, combined with a matte finish, offers a premium look and resists fingerprints effectively. - Weight and Thickness: The case is remarkably light and adds negligible bulk to the device, making it a great choice for those who dislike bulky cases. - Precision Fit: It fits snugly around the iPhone 16 Pro Max, with precise cutouts for buttons, ports, and the camera. You will not have to worry about it coming off the phone in the event you do drop the phone with the case on. - Camera and Screen Protection: Raised edges around the camera and screen ensure these areas are safe from direct contact with surfaces. Be mindful though, if you use a thick screen protector, it could exceed the lip but you will never have to worry about it scratching the actual screen! - MagSafe Compatibility: Fully compatible with MagSafe chargers and accessories, the case’s built-in magnets ensure a secure and seamless connection. While its not the strongest of magnets, you won’t have to worry about it easily coming off. Pros: - Slim and lightweight without sacrificing protection. - Made from durable, high-quality aramid fiber. - Compatible with MagSafe and wireless charging. - Precise cutouts and ergonomic design. Cons: - Limited shock absorption for very high-impact drops. - The smooth finish may feel slightly slippery to some users. - Higher price point compared to other protective cases. Overall, the case is ideal for users who want robust protection without compromising the slim profile and aesthetic of their phone. While it might not suit those needing maximum ruggedness, it’s a fantastic choice for anyone looking for premium materials, seamless MagSafe integration, and a minimalist design. This case offers a refined blend of style and functionality, making it well worth considering for iPhone 16 Pro Max owners seeking protection with elegance.

Quality issues
I was excited when I found this case as I was looking for a full coverage case that was not too thick and had a clean look. This met all those goals. However there were several issues when I put it on my phone. First, the lip around the face of the phone does not rise much beyond the edge of the phone. That means that with a screen protector on, if you place your phone screen side down on a table, it’s resting on the screen, not the edge of the case. They really should raise the lip more to protect the face. Second, buttons on the side are rather prominent. They look great, but very easy to casually press accidentally. Finally, the surface was easily scratched. There may be a manufacturing defect here, but simply installing the cover on my phone, my finger nail was able to damage the surface as seen in the pics. This would never last very long in a pocket as contact with anything will ruin it. I initially loved the all black discreet look of it, but the quality and durability is not there. I will be returning it.

Best Pitaka Case yet
I’ve been using this lightweight, minimalistic Pitaka case for a while now, and I’m really impressed. It feels super slim, almost like you’re not using a case at all—but still offers great protection. Pitaka has really improved this case year over year, and this year’s version is the best one yet. Here are some key features and improvements: - Aramid fiber now covers almost the entire sides of the case. - Only 34 grams in weight - Soft lining interior for iPhones back side - Lower center section of raised edge is has a slight dip for easier swipe actions. - All quality buttons that don’t rattle. The aramid fiber finish looks sleek and stays relatively fingerprint-free and the raised edges keep the screen and camera safe from drops. If you want something that keeps your iPhone looking sleek while staying protected, this case is a perfect choice.
