Rise of the Legend

Cinematography is very good. Typical Asian Martial Arts theme. Kid's parent is killed, child grows to learn Martial Arts to help less fortunate, fights "bad guy", etc.. Good show, however, and worth watching!

I was really concerned about the bad reviews, but the movie was really good. It could have been more emotional, but everything was solid. Especially liked the cinematography.

Great Kung Fu movie

In Chinese history and culture, Wong-fei Hung was legendary. He was a very powerful human spirit. He preceded Master Yip Man and Bruce Lee too. Yes, I have seen all of the films made of Master Wong. So far, the best part of the film is when Master Sammo pours hot water on the hands of the students. For me, that was a singular moment of the film, for fire and ice do not bother me, for I live with it here in my heart every single day. The initial fight scenes are good, just too over the top, for in real life nobody can fight like that. But still, the film work is exceptional, and Eddie Peng was superb in Operation Mekong. Heck, I'm 1/2 Native American, so my lineage goes back to Asia 25, 35, 40 thousand years ago. In real life, my family are artists, and deep down inside, Buddah is our friend. But as a student of world history, including religious studies, I understand the darkness that can reside in the best of men and women hearts.

Good, great, excellent movie.But even bad Chinese movies are often better than a lot of our cinema.At least, Chinese movies just look good. And the credits are usually works of art themselves.I've seen this already with subtitles and was blown away, but I was blown away again by this dubbed version. Well done with high-quality voice actors, it also frees your eyeballs to watch the violent ballet and passionate melodrama without having to read.Eddie Peng looks exactly how a lead actor SHOULD look, and performs even better.The fight sequences are inventive and magnificently choreographed.And if they had blown anything up, it certainly would have blown up real good.

Watched this at least 5 times, and never gets old. Seriously one of the greatest, if not tied for THE BEST (Ip Man) martial arts movie I have ever seen.

Amazing film! Takes the story of Wong Fei Hung to a whole new level! First time seeing Sammo as a pure villain and as in everything he does he was amazing! Eddie Peng was fierce and charismatic as Fei Hung and the production value was amazing! Well worth the watch!

After not getting my Martial Arts movie fix for quite some time, this movie did not disappoint. It's worth a watch for all those martial arts enthusiast out there. Plus, it's all about justice, love, friendship and endurance of heart! And crushing evil!

“Rise of the Legend” will make you feel good,There are some Asian movies that go by faster than most, but this one took it’s time in developing it’s characters,and a good story too, Eddie Peng return to the homeland where his father was killed by this ruthless crime bossSammo Hung, an try his best to bring back order an free 300 of his people who is held as slaves,one thing about there love story that they try to incorporate into there movies it just doesn't work as well as others,because never has it been shown of a naked woman, not that it has to be shown to make the movie more interesting,they never seem to know how to do it, maybe there is a censorship about showing those things,an then the prolong showing of their loyalty towards each other gets overbearing an drawn out the point of not beingreal, but the one thing this has is a ton of fight scene especially the last one with Sammo an Peng that was very good,the Asian 5.1 never is it a dull moment with your Surround that’s for dam sure, Wow..Widescreen 2.35:1Mandarin 5.1 DTS-HD Master With English Subtitles, (No Dub)Runtime 132 min.Vengeance Never Gets Old does It”
