Planet Plates of Solar System Dinnerware Set (Pluto Added-9 Planet Plates)

I have the old version of these plates and really loved them (and still do). I bought the new set and was impressed by how beautiful they are, but after a year or so they have started to fall apart. They have some sort of coating on them that has begun to bubble and peel. These plates are not microwaveable and we don’t use them for microwaving. They claim to be dishwasher safe, so we do put them in the dishwasher. Needless to say, I’m disappointed in the long term quality of these. The old plates are still holding up just fine.

I bought these dishes as a gift. The first shipment arrived without a box and with one of the plates broken. The damaged plate had to have been packed like that because the broken piece was missing. The replacement shipment was in a box - but it was either damaged or had been roughly opened and sloppily repaired with wrinkled tape. The dishes weren't damaged, but I had to replace the thin, torn pieces of tissue between each dish. The pictures are beautiful, but the dishes themselves are very thin. It would have been nice to either have the planet's names on the back of each dish - or at least listed with their pictures on the box. One was all light blue & featureless. I have no clue which planet it represents.It feels as if the manufacturer didn't care about their product or how it was packed, handled or shipped and I certainly felt it wasn't worth my $45.00.

I love the pictures on the plates. The only negative thing is the plate has no lip along the outside and everything just slides right off the plate. My kids make a huge mess when eating off these plates because the food just slides right off.

Each plate surface is entirely covered with high quality image of planet (except Saturn, which is in the center so you can see its rings), which appears to be accurate. My husband and I are science loving adults, but I promise we bought the plates for my son. I wasn't sure what to expect but I am pleased with what I got. The only reason it doesn't have 5 stars is because they are not microwave safe, but they are very durable (have been dropped multiple times without breakage). If you love planets, and you want to be able to say you've eaten on all of them (plus poor demoted Pluto), these are the plates for you!

These look very nice and after multiple washes the images don't come off.They are about the thickness of a regular plastic plate (these are plastic too), so they won't fold like a paper plate or snap in half unless you are using them to carry cinderblocks.Downside...they can't be microwaved, but are dishwasher safe.

I love these and hope they last.

I actually haven’t used them; saving them for a gift. They are beautiful, but a little thinner than I expected. Disappointed that they can’t be out in microwave.
