Also known as sweet bay or Grecian bay. Lovely evergreen with glossy dark green leaves. This is a plant of great antiquity native to the Mediterranean region and a familiar culinary ingredient used either fresh or dried. Bay topiary can make dramatic statements used singly or in pairs in the garden. In pots it can be used in pairs to frame a door way or garden path. Effective on its own at the centre of a design or to provide an attractive focal point in a garden. Bay topiary gives an all year round structure to a garden. Bay Hedging makes an effective wind break in warmer areas. It tolerates hard pruning.

I was a bit dubious about ordering plants from the internet but I was well pleased when my bay tree arrived. It was in in great condition, really green and no dead leaves etc. It's now doing famously in the garden.
