Table Lamp - Modern Metal Table Lamp 18 Inches Tall with White Linen Drum Shade (Polished Steel)

It is a nicely designed lamp for the money BUT and this is a big but: I use energy saving bulbs and they protrude over the top of the shade producing an offensive glare assaulting the eyes of persons in every area of the room, the amount visible depending on whether a person is tall, standing up, etc. In the description of the lamp a bulb number was given that I was not familiar with. I checked with a customer service person and she assured me the lamp would accommodate an energy-saving bulb. I am very upset by this as I hate naked bulbs or overhead lighting. I assembled the TWO lamps I bought in error (I intended to buy only one) but have difficulty with the Amazon website. I destroyed all the packing material before I discovered the flaw in the relation of the shade to the bulb. I am going to have to mount something on top of the shades to shield the bulb unless you can send me shades 2 or 3 inches higher. Look for me in the "rotten tomatoes" section of the web. --

I think the reviews that say this lamp is stable are interesting. Most lamps that I own have the shade attached to the bulb base by a plastic piece that screws it down, clamping it in place. This lamp does not. The shade just gets pushed down onto the top of the plastic piece, so it's not sturdy at all and wobbles at the slightest touch. The base itself is stable, sure, but the rod that extends upwards is not perpendicular to the square base - it sticks up at a slight angle (maybe just an issue with mine). The shade is also very flimsy.This wasn't worth the price for me. It will likely end up in the dumpster the next time I move because I can't imagine it would make it through that without breaking.

The light was very flimsy and cheap feeling, but that didn't surprise me given the cost. What did bother me was that the lampshade had a large dirt spot on it before I had even taken off the plastic wrapping on it. Additionally, the shade also had a small dent in it. The lampshade itself is overly wide for the size of the base and is essentially useless for obscuring the light bulb. Unless you plan on putting the light on a very high table or shelf you will clearly see the lightbulb through the top. Given these issues I decided to return the product.

This is a great lamp if you're looking for something that is shorter than most table lamps but provides good light. I bought this lamp to put next to a chair in our family room and wanted it bright enough for reading. The lamp allows a 60W bulb, which is good. Most smaller lamps I saw only allowed a 40W bulb, which may be fine for a bedside lamp, but not for a family room. The lamp is attractive and the base is stable. It even has 4 rubber feet on its bottom so it won't mar your table and a cord that matches the base so it's not highly visible. The shade is neutral (white, but not "bright" white, which is great), modern, and included with the lamp. Overall a great little lamp, at a fantastic price, and with awesome Amazon Prime fulfillment.

Ordered a pair of these to replace a mismatched existing pair - lights were well-packaged and arrived intact. Very simple design - easy to assemble and worked perfectly. When laying in bed - the lampshade it low enough that the bulb isn't directly visible - this is nice for reading and such. The quality is great - for the price. Easy push button on/off is easy to operate when half-asleep too.

This is a pretty nice looking lamp and stylish. My only complain would be that the shade is too low. If your bulb is too big then it will peak over the top of the shade. IF youre putting the lamp in a high place it wont matter but it could be an issue. Overall I like the lamp though and it looks nice and feels pretty sturdy.

Package was received in retail packaging. Clean. I have only two issues with this lamp... made in china and the steel isn't quite smooth. Some scratches and the stem has some defects. Overall for the price you get a heavy stable lamp that looks great. I would recommend.
