DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY
In theory, this solar fountain for my birdbath seemed to be a fun idea; in practice, it was quite a failure. I’m returning it because it became one more thing that required my daily time and attention. The unit is poorly designed and could not possibly have been tested in a real world application; it does not/ cannot perform as intended. Here’s what happened: Following the directions that came with the unit, I assembled it and placed it in the water in my birdbath. (I have a normal-sized, cement birdbath that holds probably 3” or more of water at its deepest part at the center of the bowl.) The solar fountain unit has 3, very tiny, 3/8” suction cups clustered together - but not even centered - on the bottom, but they would not stick to the cement birdbath bowl. Furthermore, I quickly discovered that the unit is so extremely buoyant that it will not /cannot sink to the bottom of the birdbath as is required according to the instructions, much less be held in place by the mini suction cups. For who-knows-what reason, the unit designer chose to affix a round, 7/8” thick, 7” diameter, RUBBER gasket to the bottom of the solar panel (presumably to protect the battery pack), which is clearly what makes the entire unit so ridiculously buoyant. I messaged the seller about this issue and asked if there was something I was doing wrong. I got a nonsensical response about how I should somehow wire a rock to the unit to hold it down. Seriously??Since I really wanted this fountain to work, and after giving it considerable thought, I took a heavy, smooth ceramic, dessert plate and pressed the suction cups down onto that and they held. I then placed the dessert plate, with the solar fountain attached, in the birdbath. The weight of the dessert plate was enough to counteract the buoyancy of the solar fountain unit, however, because the suction cups were not centered on the unit, the solar panel sat cockeyed in the water, which caused the water shooting out of the fountain to be directed off to the side and OUT of the birdbath. To remedy THIS problem, I slipped a flat “skipping rock” under one side of the fountain unit to level the solar panel and keep the water in the birdbath. The rest is history, as they say: While the unit does indeed run for awhile after the sun goes down, it runs itself out of juice, so the next day it doesn’t work. I let it sit there for a couple hours in the birdbath (in direct sunlight), waiting for it to turn itself back on after recharging the battery, but it never happened, and despite tapping the center of the solar panel as instructed. I had to remove it all from the water, set it in a sunny spot for 2 hours (as suggested by the instructions in the “if your fountain stops working” Section), and THEN return it to the birdbath. The same thing happened the 2nd day, but I let it sit in the birdbath ALL day; it never turned itself back on. (The instructions also say to “tap the center of the solar panel or gently knock it to reset it,” but that doesn’t work, either.)One more frustration: The water shooting into the air *dramatically* accelerates the water evaporation rate. Even though I normally replace the birdbath water each morning, with the fountain operating I had to add water TWICE by the end of the day.Sorry, not for me; this solar fountain requires WAY too much time and attention. This was supposed to add enjoyment to my life; I’m not spending $23 to do nothing but aggravate myself.

so disappointing
I researched many different types of these solar fountains, and this one looked like one of the best, so I ordered 2 (one as a gift for my sister, and one for me). In the beginning, it worked, and was a delight to watch & hear. Worked better than I'd even anticipated. That lasted less than a week. Then, it just stopped working. I did everything the instructions said about tapping it to reset, cleaning the motor and water sensors off (even though the water was perfectly clean and there was nothing to clean off), letting it charge more in the sun. Nothing worked. When I asked my sister about hers, she said sometimes it worked and sometimes not. There was no rhyme or reason for when it worked or didn't. It's not working at all now. I'm so disappointed. Wish I had my money back.

Does not work
I bought this item to use in my birdbath. Once assembled, it worked for all of 5 minutes & stopped. It was in direct sunlight all day! If it does not work, instructions say to let it sit in the shade to cool down. Found that odd, as it is solar powered & needs plenty of sun. Also to try letting it sit out of the water in the sun for 2 hours. Neither of those worked & I feel that I shouldn't have to do nothing but put it in my birdbath, that's sitting in the sun all day long. Was really looking forward to using this, a big disappointment. Most of these on the market are very similar & I'm not sure I want to waste my time or money on another.

Skywee Upgraded Solar Fountain
This fountain was the hit of our patio party. It is the right size for a birdbath. The battery backup let’s it continue to be a fountain even when the birdbath was in shadow. I had a different one that stopped running if there was no sun. That made this one a great fountain for our patio. It came quickly & was well packaged.

Only lasted 2 days.
It worked fine for two days and then stopped. I followed the instructions I put it in direct sun light for 2 hours each day and tried to restart it for 7 days following the directions on how to restart it and no luck. I would not buy it.

It worked great for 2 days and has not worked since. I have contacted the maker and they said that I need to contact Amazon. There is plenty of sun and water. Who do I contact now???

We loved these then they began being inconsistent
We loved these then they began being inconsistent. We took them out of the water and charged them in the sun and they worked well.

Did Not work as advertised!
Only worked for very short periods at a time. When it did come on, the pump was too powerful for my birdbath and would splash all the water out! It barely worked for about 2 weeks, then completely quit! Would not recommend this unit.
