Robinson Crusoe - graphic style
This well known adventure story tells of Robinson Crusoe's adventures when he is shipwrecked. The book includes useful background information about Daniel Defoe, Alexander Selkirk and pirates; unusually for a work of fiction, there is also an index. Graphic novels are an excellent way to engage readers, especially reluctant ones. The Graffex series is ideal for Upper KS2 or very early KS3. The layout is clear, with text, speech bubbles and colourful but uncluttered comic-strip style illustrations. The text is kept to a minimum but nothing of the story is lost

Misleading
The book I received was Robinson Crusoe but I picked this one because of the style in which It was published. I received a copy that is commonly used in schools which was a bit disappointing. It did affect my overall enjoyment of the classic.

Lovely Book. Plenty of excellent illustrations. Probably the best in this Publisher's Series

Not great quality control check!
There seems to be a problem with this copy of Robinson Crusoe I ordered as a stage prop!

Fabric book cover, the colour scheme sinks it
I bought this book as my dad would read it to me as a child and I wanted a nice copy to remember that by. I should have chosen a different a different one. The fabric cover does not do a lot for me I feel as if it will get scuffed or marked very easily. My biggest problem with this book is that It is bright orange! All the pages and the ribbon bookmarks are bright orange! It looks terrible! I will definetly be looking for this book somewhere else.

The Hardbound Edition is Beautiful!
For the money this is an excellent value. The cover, illustrations, binding, paper stock, and easy to read typeface make this hardbound version a pleasure to read. The editors did an excellent job of breaking the book into chapters (the original was a continuous narrative.) The text is pretty much as original, which means that it was written for an 18th century reader, but it is not difficult to read. The story is exciting. The main character has a rough time and presents an adult life with themes that would be rated PG13 in the movies.

Great for Middle/HS boys
I've ordered the classics for my grandson who is in first year high school. His mother requested this, and Treasure Island, and 3 other classics. The family reads them together each night. "Do as I do."
