Strictly Beds and Bunks - Cleveland Pine Bed Frame including Sprung Mattress (20cm), 4ft Double

The media could not be loaded.  I had the assembly too, purchased with the bed. All went smooth, in fact the bed assemblers were excellent on customer service. The young lad that assembled mine showed me the bed and spare parts after assembling. My trouble began when I slightly moved the bed to the left to store some stuff under it. Immediately one support leg came off, and the opposite one bent at an angle nearly pulling the screws out. So, repaired that. Having been bitten once I still needed to store, so gently lifted the bed at one end to take any strain off. The bed immediately started to separate and bend in the middle. Any further attempts would of snapped the bed in 2. So, I cant move it only a few inches. The seller told me it can ONLY be moved by 4 people. Something perhaps should of warned about in the packaging. If you never move it, unless helped by 3 more people. Also don't need to move it after built, then it's a solid well built and finished bed. Arrived earlier than expected, came well packaged. Unfortunately there was a damaged piece, however, the manufacturers have a website where any damaged items can be ordered with no fuss. Replacement piece arrived by courier 2 days later (the original delivery date).Putting together is pretty simple, the instructions give you everything you need, just read carefully. Give yourself enough room & lay the pieces out on the floor. And read the instructions carefully! It an be done with one person (I did it alone in about 2.5hrs) but it would be a doddle with two.Build quality is excellent: they are not kidding when they say heavy duty. The slats are a lot thicker than others I've seen. In the small double there is also a centre support bar & leg (7 legs on total).First few nights there's was a couple of slight creaks (no movement I could feel), but they've gone, the frame is solid wood, it needs to settle & adjust to temperature & humidity.Masses of underbed storage, 30cm clearance, it's a high frame compared to some I've seen.All in all, I am very pleased with my purchase & with the customer service provided.

Bought two of these... one had sunken holes pre-drilled in the slats, the other one didn't (meaning the straight edge screws stick up into the mattress). We also had a couple of extremely warped pieces. The instructions were minimal though it was fairly self explanatory. The bolts are quite a bit smaller than the ones on the single beds they replaced so not sure how robust they are overall. So the quality of them is a little hit and miss... but they weren't expensive and they have a large clear space underneath for storage which is what we needed.

Love this bed, really sturdy. As others have mentioned, the wood isn't finished but you can always do it yourself if you'd like to.Only loses a star because it's quite confusing to put together....literally none of it is already already stumbled so it's delivered in one long box, just a load of planks of wood and screws etc. It does have instructions though.It's not perfect, a lot of the holes don't line up properly and the slats across the bed are different length so they don't line up perfectly (eg some reach neatly across from edge to edge, others just about reach enough to screw them into the frame).Good bed for the price...but only if you're a bit handy.

Took two people to build. Central support bar not easy to fix together and needed extra wood glue, a drill and longer screws to hold it all in one piece. The central support bar has to be measured and dead centre to work , as well as needing to be the same height as sides. Mattress dips somewhat without extra wood under central panel. Not a great design. Head boards very low and digs into your back if sat up. Had to attach another headboard. Should have just brought some cheap pine and designed a better bed myself!

This is in my spare room where space is more important. (it is a smallish double room). it is very strong in construction but I added extra bolts to the side support legs which seemed to bend when I moved it across the floor. This was very easy to do, so no problem, but might be good if they were done like that in the first place. I am pleased with this and it is a comfortable bed to sleep on. if you aren't going to move it much the legs would be fine.

Delivery was outstanding on this item, i was kept advised and updated of all aspects of the delivery, the driver phoned to say when he expected to arrive and even arrived 10 minutes early, very helpful and pleasant, delivery was made yesterday and i opened the box today, everything intact and as expected - really good quality, instructions were not too bad and even though i think it is a two person job it is easy enough to do alone, as a single mum i managed it quite well, just remember to have a pencil, tape measure and a Phillips and regular screw driver to hand, all in all the bed looks fab!, really strong and solid, this one should last!Can i just add that this is a British made bed, excellently made and good to know, we have had a couple of beds (foreign imports) that did not last 2 years - one only 12 months!, This is definitely made to last!

As expected for the price. Unfortunately one of the posts had the holes pre-drilled in the wrong position but I was able to make new holes to fit (I am sure it would have been possible to return this part or have another one sent out). Not the most sturdy pine bed but has been used initially for a 3 year old intermittently but now they are 7 years old and have been using it permanently for the past 18 months.
