Piano Benches (FJ-012)

I looked at over a dozen piano benches on Amazon and on Jansen.com, and was initially interested in the genuine leather duet piano bench from Flanger because of the great reviews and pictures but didn't want to pay the $180 price tag, so I opted to buy the same bench but for single player. There were no customer reviews on this one, but felt confident that it would be of great quality because the duet received impressive reviews. The assembly was so easy that my 9 year old son was able to assemble it all by himself. This bench is of exceptional quality and design. For the price of $107, it is a complete steal. I am so glad that I bought this bench. It is stunning, high quality, well made, and has a great price point. Wonderful product. 5 Stars!

Extremely fast shipping (2 days)! Tremendously sturdy and we'll built. I am 6'3", 280 pounds and this bench supports me with no squeaks or movement in any way. Leather top with very firm yet comfortable cushioning allows for very comfortable playing time regardless of how long playing. Far out performs any OEM piano bench I've seen. Used with my Yamaha Transacoustic Piano and I couldn't be happier. Had lots of trouble finding a bench or stool with correct height required for me. This one adjusts perfectly!!! The lowest height is 20" before it is sat on and only sinks in about half-an-inch while sitting on it.

There's a lot to like about this bench, but it isn't exactly as advertised. Please let me explain.What I like:The bench is very sturdy and attractive. The finish on the legs and sides is excellent. It sits one person comfortably, and two adults fit reasonably well, although it is a tiny bit of a squeeze. Not a bad thing if you're fond of the other person. :) My wife and I play piano together and we fit fine, although with little room to spare. We're tall, so we have the seat raised a few inches, and it still feels very sturdy and stable. The seat, seat extension and legs feel very solidly built, and the black glossy finish looks great.What I wasn't expecting:The seat upholstery is advertised as "100% premium genuine leather padded cushioned top...". There are no gaps or edges where I can check the back side of the material, but the top does not feel like real leather, premium or otherwise. The surface has some kind of plastic coating. It might be waterproofing for the leather, or it might be that the material is an imitation leather. I don't know which it is, but it doesn't have the feel I would expect from premium leather. It pops and squeaks a little, which my other leather furniture does not do.In all, it's a solid, attractive piano bench and at a reasonable price, but just understand that the top may not feel like what you might expect of premium leather.

It was nice and comfortable. The buttons that hold down the leather top look nice. One has just torn away so I have a floppy hole in the leather. I got it April 8th and it is only June 25th. That is 78 days! And it cost me over $200!

This is a good sized bench that will comfortably seat two people. It's nice and sturdy and the height adjustment mechanism (turn to raise/lower, not a gas strut) is decent.It's not leather... I don't think any are... even the really expensive ones.Unless you have money coming out of your ears and can afford one of the ones made by J.... I'd recommend this one.

So, the bench is lovely. However, this product is infact, not well made. Explaination, part of the legs should include a 90degree support to the frame (horizontals) the only support is the attachment bolt itself. The gloss black (plastic) finish where it touches the same upon assembly SQUEEKS!! I should have returned it immediately-b/c it is so distracting. Every time your weight is shifted on bench it squeeks bad. I remedied this by replacing the new legs with my old legs and inserted felt in between intersecting parts as I reassembled. The black plastic finish is non-repairable b/c it is a plastic coating. If you are looking for a high quality bench as a performer this IS NOT IT! The top does look nice. And after a hour of modifications I am okay with it. This bench is just another cheap rip-off of a real bench

I LOVE this bench. It adjusts very well and only came in 2 parts, the body and legs. So assembly was super convenient and easy. Most importantly is how does the cushion feel- firm, yet has a nice softness to it. You don't sink into the bench and it's nice for support when playing. I love the design and functionality. I could not be more pleased with it.

This item was 70% off. My son is very tall and he is learning piano. I was looking for something that my son and I could both sit on and play together and something that was adjustable because he could be as tall at 6’5.” I had to get the washers on the right place, use a bit of WD-40, and tighten the bolts with a ratchet. It is not squeaky anymore. It has a tiny place on one of the legs that is missing the paint and lacquer. It also has a couple of white paint splotches. I think that is why it was 70% off. But it is perfect for me!!
