I was having issues with my 1999 Chevy suburban...service 4wd light was on and I had no capability to switch through the 4wd options plus It would fall on its face at a low idle when in gear and I'd have to mash the gas to keep it going... After some research I found I needed to replace the transfer case control module... Afterwards it ran better but I still couldn't switch through the 4wd options... I replaced this switch (which was really easy to do... Much easier than replacing the TCCM) and now I have my 4wd options back and the service 4wd light is gone.

Item works perfect. I just wish the backlight was the same warm white as the rest of the dashboard. It is noticeably a much cooler color

Fixed my problem with the message center saying "Service 4WD". Super easy to install by popping the dash cover off (grab the edge above the speedometer and pull sharply towards you). Make sure the wheel is tilted all the way down and the gear shifter is in 1st gear, and it comes right off. Then just pop the old one out, plug the new one in and you're done. 5 minute repair and no tools needed! Matches the original part exactly with bright white labels. As other reviewers have noted, at night the LEDs are a bit dim and mine are bluish in color, but you can still see it fine. Tested out the 4WD and all works well now.

Direct plug and play fit into my ‘00 Tahoe. Quality seems to be on par with the factory switch. The lights are a little more blue than the rest of the vehicle but I can look past that for the price.

The switch was a simple and fast direct replacement that was very easy. Just take of the dashboard trim "ring" and the old switch slides out easily. Since it is an interior switch the plugs came out of the OEM switch without an issue and went into the new switch easily. Functionality is perfect. The only issue, and it really is a minor one, is that the switches light up in blue LED rather than the stock yellowish light, so at night it looks a bit odd on the dashboard among all the stock switches when they are lit. But you get used to it.

Tried replacing this first before spending the $1200 for a 4wd module the garage recommended. They couldn't read the codes without replacing the 4wd module so thought I would try this first. Did the trick. The lights on it now work (shifts into 4wd, etc) and the Service 4wd alert went off. So I guess the 4wd module wasn't broke. For the price of it and the easiness of replacing it, try this first before spending big $$$. Or maybe second. Clean and check the grounds first.
