better than most
I liked it.

Does the job
I needed to install a 15mm non-return valve and I wanted one with full bore. This does the job perfectly. If you're going to install this within a section of pipe - you'll need to cut out 3.5cmThe hexagonal design on the main body provides ideal support when tightening. It is a bit pricey - hence 4 stars

Perfect for gravity flow hot water systems
Glad I found this. Standard check valves don’t allow sufficient hot water through in a gravity fed system. Works well in a bungalow with less than 10ft head of water.

Better flow rate than plastic versions
Compression fittings are more tricky to use than the plastic push fit, but for lower pressure (gravity fed in a bungalow) it is worth it.

Not a high flow device
Not really a high-bore, full-flow device. The brass moulding is designed so that the supports for the moving internal one way valve are blocking out a large portion of the bore, so max flow is actually quite poor. Not recommended if you are seeking a high flow rate.

Does its job but unreliable.
This is now the second unit i have had to install. They work well, with good flow, but the first one decided to suddenly make a HUGE string of banging noises when water was flowing, enough to hear all over the house followed by it completely seizing up. After removing it from the system it tested fine but was replaced due to the unusual failure mode potentially causing water hammer issues elsewhere.
