As others have said, there are some small flaws in it, but overall for the price, it's a nice blade. It's use for ritual purposes so it doesn't matter if it's sharp or not. I think the handle is pretty, and it's well-balanced. The most notable flaw is where the pieces come together on the butt of the handle, but it's smooth so you don't notice it. The sheath is not very high quality. If you plan to carry the knife, get a better sheathe. Recommended for ritual purposes, maybe some real use if it were a bit sharper.

love the style of this, and it is very well weighted, perfectly balanced at the fulcrum. The blade itself will be a bit dull when you receive it, though the point is very sharp (the cover it with a nice rubber stopper) so just be aware of that if you actually plan to cut anything with it. a couple of flaws in the handle where you can tell the pieces weren't quite cut cleanly before being put together, but they do a great job of smoothing the edges so you won't feel a difference as you handle it. Blade has a slight curve to its grind line but it's exactly the same on both sides so may be intentional. The sheath for it wasn't fully stitched up on one side. looked like the machine may have switched around the last half inch and they said "good enough" and used it anyway (which honestly it is good enough to hold it still so I'm fine with it) Overall really great for use as an athame and seems like it's pretty sturdy and will last a long time. Still give it a 5 star, just 4 star on craftsmanship.

Okay knife- handle is plastic or something NOT wood. Holder is trash- might as well throw away. Button broke soon after getting.

Yes, I know basically nobody is using this knife to cut things in the physical realm. I'm still reviewing it that way because $17 is $17. Packaging: Bare bones. A cardboard box contains the dagger in one plastic bag and the sheath in another plastic bag. Design: Looks great at first glance, but there are black marks on the steel parts of the guard and handle that I can't polish off. The wood handle also looked a bit dry, but if you want a true black-handled double-edged dagger, your options are limited. I like the more practical approach and the full tang. I feel like "working tools" should be capable of work. Feel: Good. The wood is smooth and the balance of the knife is at the pin closest to the blade, which makes it very easy to handle. Unfortunately, the steel edges of the handle dig into the palm, so it's not very comfortable. Overall fit and finish is annoying enough for me to take off a star. Sharpness: Poor. This dagger ships unsharpened, though the point is definitely dangerous. This is probably a positive for those using it for purely ceremonial purposes. Sheath: Okay, with a major problem. The sheath is very hard plastic, but the button clasp will scratch the handle every single time you use it. This costs another star. Is it really that difficult to make a better sheath or use harder metal on the guard where the button makes contact?
