Too much trouble.
I read the other reviews, both positive and negative, and decided to give this bacon cooker a chance, as my folks had a similar device back in the 70s. I was looking for a way to avoid all the grease splatter and mess you get from cooking bacon in a skillet. I cooked about 6 pounds of bacon (regular and thick cut) in mine with the following results.Positives:- It cooks bacon.- Inner cooking plates remove more easily than expected (not as difficult as other users stated).- Grease splatter is almost non-existant.Negatives:- Like others, it is too small to cook more than 5 pieces of bacon at a time.- To 'evenly' cook the bacon, you have to open the cooker and turn the bacon.- You will have to experiment with the time settings to get any consistency in the bacon.- Cooking time for a pound of bacon is WAY more than just frying it up in a pan.- The bacon gets cooked more in the center (highest point) than at the ends (lowest point), so the bacon is never consistently cooked overall.- After cooking about 8-10 slices you have to empty the grease trap or it will overflow. The grease trap does not remove easily and will slosh the grease causing a spill on your counter (and subsequent clean up).- The non-stick finish has begun to wear off after on the center bacon holder only after 3 uses.- Grease gets trapped in a lot of little corners that you can't access easily.Overall, I don't recommend this product. I have gone back to frying bacon in skillet on my stove top.

Good concept but does not work.
The concept behind the Bacon Express is good - the product, not so much. I was looking for something to cook bacon without the grease platter of the pan and the heat of the oven. Upon arrival I tried it out - complete fail. The bacon cooked crisp on the center section that sits on the top of the 'tray' but the two ends were less cooked. Like I said, the concept is good - maybe a relook at the design would make this a product everyone wants.

Did Not Cook Evenly
The bacon-lover and gadget-guru could not make bacon to his satisfaction in four separate attempts. The same batch would range from underdone to very overdone. And the Oscar Meyer bacon was too long, requiring trimming. It was somewhat difficult to clean, requiring scrubbing. PRO: The tray collected the bacon grease well.

Do Not waste your money!
A nice looking piece of garbage. Cooks slowly; cooks on one side only, next to impossible to turn bacon over to cook second side evenly. Has been relegated to the garage sale pile after one use.

Loved the convenience!!!
Great concept, a couple of things need improved on. Mine still leaks bacon grease onto my counter top so I started putting the whole thing in a small pan to control mess. It would be handy if it also came with nylon tongs to lift or turn bacon.

poor design
this product is sitting in my nowhere place, I used it once, according to instructions, it made a terrible mess, grease everywhere, the clean up was not pleasant, the bacon was cooked in some parts and not in others. It was awful

Cooks unevenly.
It worked great for a for a while. Then the Teflon where you put the bacon is starting to come off. Also not easy to clean.
