Perfect replacement for my Sub-Zero 532!
Perfect replacement for my Sub-Zero 532, which had stopped cooling adequately on the Fridge side (freezer is independent and never broke). One day the fridge started only getting down to about 45 degrees. After watching some YouTubes on possible reasons, I tried replacing the temperature control, and now the fridge is working beautifully again! Saved lots of $$$ over the cost of a service call!

Gets You Going Again, But...
Great item to get your refrigerator up and going again, but I question if there's not a design flaw/issue with these. Seems like every time I lose power long enough for the refrigerator to warm up, I end up having to replace this control in order to get going again. Fortunately it's not very often that I lose power for very long, but the tornados of April 2011 managed to do it to me and a random power outage did it to me some time before that. That's twice over a four or five year period that I've "coincidentally" had to replace this control to get the refrigerator running after warming up due to an extended power loss. It's just a guess on my part, but I've come to believe that this is more than a mere coincidence and, in my opinion, probably involves some sort of metal fatigue that affects the ability of the contacts to mate once the refrigerator temperature has been allowed to warm up excessively? If someone else has the answer to this mystery, I'd love to hear it. Unfortunately, there's not much you can do unless/until the manufacturer addresses this issue... outside of trying some third party thermostat, maybe? Anyone else tried that???Anyway, I still gave it four stars since it does seems to work well/reliably as long as power is not lost for an extended period of time. Docked it the one star because I'm pretty convinced I'll be replacing it yet again should I have another extended power outage...
