3M RP25/GRY055 Scotch RP25 VHB Tape: 1/2" x 15 ft.

We purchased this recently to replace our Philips Hue Strips  Philips Hue White and Color Ambiance LightStrip Plus Dimmable LED Smart Light (Compatible with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit, and Google Assistant)  adhesive on the back as the adhesive was falling apart after extensive use. We scoured online looking for a replacement and found this as recommended by Philips. The strip is double sided and fits perfectly (dimension wise) on the Philips Hue Strips. A challenge that we had, not with the tape but the Philips Strips, were that the strip's adhesive took a while to remove as it required meticulous removal of 1 inch adhesive one by one rather than a long adhesive strip where you could remove it in one go. Other than that, applying this adhesive was easy to do. All we had to do (after removing the OEM adhesive on the Philip Strips) was to peel one side of the tape and apply it to the strip and then removing the other side to apply it to the area where we want to the strips to adhere to. So far it's working pretty well. What tape would work (wood to metal bonding)?We've had the tape in a building that reaches about 80-95 degrees in dry heat and so far it is working well (its bonding our Philips Hue to wood). We're not quite sure if it will works just as well on metal and what type of application you're trying to do it on. It's not the strongest adhesive tape around, but it will glue light objects together perfectly.Overall, we would recommend this product if you're looking to replace your Philip Hue Strip's adhesive. Other than that, we don't see any other use for this particular product, but it definitely does work if you're looking to tape something with a two sided tape product.Like our review? VHB is the best! With that being said, this supplier needs to get their act together. Wrapping adhesives in plastic (saran) wrap, IS NOT acceptable. The cling wrap is thin and sticks to the sides of the roll and creates a huge mess trying to get all of the cling wrap off. Additionally there was no date code and the roll was not in a moisture bag or a bag of any kind. ALL ADHESIVES ARE MOISTURE SENSITIVE AND HAVE SHELF LIFE. Will be buying VHB from a different supplier next time. My roll had deformed and looked like it was exposed to too much heat

I'm very suspicious that this is authentic 3M tape. It came in just a plain baggie, no 3M logo, no instructions. I've tried three times to remove the film backing.

I could not get this tape to stick to any surface. It would fall off with its own weight. It has absolutely not adhesion. I have tried several different surfaces to make sure it was just the tape. I would never by this product again and it was an absolute waist of money. All VHB tapes I have seen either say VHB on the inside of the roll, or on the plastic that is removed. This is not marked VHB anywhere. The inside of the roll shows 3M core series 4-1000 Which this is not either, as that is a clear double sided tape. This is gray like VHB. This is a fraudulent product.

This stuff is amazing. I'm not sure what else there is to say. 3M pulled off some real wizardry with this VHB stuff.I use this for hobby applications, including quadcopters -- attaching flight controllers, cameras, etc. Recently, lost a small drone in a tree in my yard. It came out of the tree in a windstorm after a month of Pacific Northwest weather. The tiny piece of VHB tape used to hold a camera on top of the drone was still solid.I've also used this tape to help my son put window louvers on his car. Clean and dry the glass really well before use, and this stuff ain't coming off.Anywhere, any time you need to permanently affix something, this is the stuff.

So far so good. I am using it to adhere a dashcam to flat disk applied to my window in my car. The original double sided adhesive failed late in the summer. I will have to wait to see if this can make it through a cold winter and a hot summer. So far so good though. Just a few days so far. This should be a perfect application for this tape. Both surfaces are non-porous hard plastics.If this fails next summer, I will revise my review. Same if it fails this winter. I used a pocket knife blade to lift the plastic film off the adhesive polymer material or whatever it is made of.

What I received does not match the picture and does not function like the tape that I have purchased in the past. I received two rolls with white peel off backing that does not stick to the tape. This makes it very hard to control the tape when positioning it. The tape stretches and won't hold a straight line without the backing. I've used many rolls in the past with the red backing and it is an excellent 5 star tape.

Very High Bond is right.Sticks and sticks well. I have not tried removing it from anything... I think that could go with much difficulty.Using to hold up LED light strip under lip of the front desk. Works great.Using to hold a step stool on the back of the closet door (holding the hanger, not standing on the stool on the door), works great so far. Hollow door so screws would have been a bad idea, and 2 strips of this tape is holding everything in place.

It's a little fiddly getting the plastic layer off but it's strong - I bought it to replace the foam sticky pads (Which failed after 20 years of holding a mirror up) and it feels very secure - time will tell but I suspect it'll be a long time before the mirror tries to fall off again!

Really great VHB at good value. Works well on most substrates I tried it on and good value compared to other vendors.

Very dissapointing for the enormously high price! I have used much better VHB tapes!!

Rubbish - simply doesn’t stick.
