FANTASTIC - the product AND the vendor!
This was excellent, across the board! The seller is communicative, expedient, & generous - inside my pack was a gorgeous envelope (I know: how can an envelope be "gorgeous", right? Trust me...this is!) w/a note of personal thanks, along with a lovely gold bookmark, & inside the box was another free satin hair band/tie (kinda like a scarf, but cut into a strip & meant to be used in one's hair...dunno what else to call it). And the skirt? BREATHTAKING!I used this as a key component of my Halloween costume. My husband & I were my artistic take on Edgar Allen Poe & the Raven. I'll post the 2 pictures we took, but they were taken with my mother in-laws filthy phone & unfortunately, you really can't see the skirt in any great detail. Bad photo aside, I can attest that we took 1st place in the couples' costume contest, & contrary to the blurry photo, my costume took the GRAND PRIZE! That's a BIG DEAL when you live in Los Angeles!Okay, so down to the nitty-gritty."Does it shed?"A: It's a bunch of big, long feathers sewn into a skirt. Of course it does! However, if you aren't doing alot of sitting/standing/sitting/standing (rinse & repeat), dancing the night away, or wearing a very tight corset on top & moving nonstop for 7 hours like me, the shedding will be minimal. Yes, mine was fairly well-plucked by the end of the night, but despite shredding so many feathers that my brother in-law commented, "Well, at least she won't get lost; we'll just follow her feather trail!,* it STILL didn't have any obvious bald spots & can, in fact, be worn again! It's simply significantly shorter. Guess I'd better work on my legs before I wear it again!"Does it fit true-to-size"?"A: Yes. For the sake of reference, I'm 5'9" tall & wear a size 8/10 in pants. The size I needed, large, was sold-out, so I got an XL. It was quite loose on me - I probably should've ordered a Medium. I estimate that an XL will fit up to a size 14 through the hips/booty."How long/short is it?"A: See my size at the beginning of the previous answer. The XL hit roughly 4" - 5" above my knee. I actually pulled it up to shorten it for the costume. If I'd gotten the Medium size, like I should have, I'd estimate it would hit about 8" - 10" above the knee. And, yes. I pulled mine up that high in the photos. Stuffing all of those feathers up into a steel-boned, heavy-duty corset probably had a whole dang lot to do with how many were shed, now that I think about it."Will this last for several wearings?"A: See the 1st question. If you put it on & don't move too much, you should be able to. Treat this as though it's a one-of-a-kind designer piece that you borrowed from Lady Gaga & she'll be pissed if you return it damaged, & you can probably wear it many, many, many times. Treat it like an old denim skirt from the Goodwill store & you MIGHT get 2 wears out of it. Think, people."Will the color transfer/stain?"A: Yes. Absolutely. You're wearing feathers...from real, actual, formerly-alive roosters...who live outside, don't take baths, & enjoy rooting around in the dirt. Feathers are DIRTY. PERIOD. If you want feathers as clean as the ones in your pillow, bust out a glue gun, cut your pillow open & get to gluing. If you want vibrant, iridescent, downright decadent real rooster feathers, they're gonna come with a good amount of grime. Why? Because if they THOROUGHLY washed them, the feathers would ruffle, fall apart, & completely lose their luster (they DO clean the feathers before applying them, for the record. They just can't get them CLEAN-clean w/o ruining them). So, yeah...you WILL want to take a bath after wearing this (unless you're nasty like that). DON'T wear this w/white/light colors, & for the love of God, don't sit on light-colored furniture unless it's yours & you don't care about it. However, if you're trying to end a relationship with someone or get revenge on someone who happens to own light-colored furniture, by all means, rub your dirty, feathery derriere all over their house! Otherwise, take care not to damage stuff w/your dirty feathers."Do you recommend this item/seller?"A: Yes. Absolutely & Emphatically - IF, that is, you take into consideration all of the points I've listed above. It's not cool to order this, then fault the vendor when you have a problem which you could've avoided by reading unsolicited, un-incentivized, un-biased, DETAILED reviews. If you have any further questions, I'm happy to help. Beautiful, well-made & comfortable
The overall quality of this feather skirt (which I bought with the matching top) is undeniably gorgeous and surprisingly well made! I’m 5’5”, 135 lbs, ordered size Medium, and the fit was so comfy! I was only worried about breaking any feathers when I sat down, but then I noticed that the skirt is designed so there’s a gap between the tiered layers that allows you to move about comfortably. In a 5-hr time at a gala, I maybe lost just ONE feather, which I fixed easily when I got home. No zipper but an elastic waist that’s very comfortable! Super cute! Breathes nicely, and the versatility is incredible that I decided to wear again at a different event, a little more casual! Definitely recommend! Cosplay, themed event, nightclub, dinner, bachelorette…you’ll love it as much as I did!

Beautiful feathers!
I loved the iridescent green in the feathers! The skirt went perfectly with my other feathered pieces for a raven costume. Just be prepared that if you sit with the skirt on some feathers may get snatched off. I just collected them and plan to reattach later. Even after losing about 6 feathers the skirt still appeared full.

Fun skirt fits true to size
I haven’t worn it outside of the house yet, I’ve only played with it in my closet, but I can’t wait to find a reason to wear it. I got the medium size and it is short but you can pull it down to make it lower on your hips. It’s really pretty but it does shed like crazy.I read other reviews in my size that said I should order an XL because I have a booty. The medium fit perfectly, the extra-large would’ve been way too big.

Super cute!
I loved this for my peacock costume! I took one row of feathers off bc it was a little long for my liking and used the rest for my headpiece. Loved it!

Fits true to size
Great construction on the skirt-the feathers are tightly sewn on and didn’t fall off. Buy one size up if you want the feathers to lay flat all the time, but I like the way they gave me a curvy shape.

Super cute, but very delicate.
Very pretty skirt but the elastic waistband makes it look a little cheap, and the feathers look like they will fall out. It also runs large, I ordered the small and it still feels very loose.

Stunning but Vanity Sizing
This skirt is absolutely gorgeous. Based on quality and design I would give this a 5/5. I definitely wanted to give this a 5/5. But the sizing of this skirt is definitely vanity sized. There are a lot of vanity sized items, but when you buy something with the delineator of “EXTRA” small, you expect it to be built for athletic body types or ethnically Asian body types. I have a normal BMI. It’s not even underweight for my height. So you would expect an EXTRA small to be just that small compared to the average American. The waist is elastic. So not only is the elastic band supposed to be stretchy and geared towards a tight fit it shouldn’t be loose. I would say this was the size of a small for an American non-vanity-sized. If designers are going to advertise items as “extra” small the waist should be a 22” OR LESS. I would say that the elastic band was about 3” too wide. When the band is so loose it the it hits to the hips the design element and je ne sais quo element of the skirt and mechanics of how it should move based on where it fits on your body is lost. I will be altering it and keeping it as I need an outfit for Halloween weekend and this is beautiful, but the vanity sizing has to stop. The sizing should be more comparable to designer brands.

Great quality. What you see is what you get
The title says it all. It looks exactly like the picture. It is marked one size but reasonably could be expected to fit a size 2 to a size 10 maybe
