Good floor-mounted door stop that matches others in our building.
Our building has these for many of its doors, but one door needed it and no longer had it. This was the perfect door stop and matched the existing ones. Installation does require a drill (for wood floors) or a drill and masonry bit (for concrete floors), but otherwise, the installation is fairly easy. Note that a floor-mounted door stop can keep your door from swinging into the wall and the door knob punching a hole in your drywall. Repairing that is a lot more work than installing this doorstop. This style of stop is usually found in commercial buildings like schools, churches and shops rather than homes.

Good design that works...
Product is a good design and works well for our purpose. During initial installation, it appeared the installation screw had gathered rust quickly. Closer examination showed the "rust" to be residue left over from the installation. I am amending my review as it was originally lower when I thought the screw had rusted. A quick note on installation. This stop requires 2 holes. Place the stop where you want it and mark it on the ground. Drill the first hole where the hole for the screw is in the flat portion. Assemble the stop and place the "fixing" screw in the hole you just drilled. Reorient the stop within your marked circle and use the same hole in the flat portion to mark the second hole. Worked like a champ and made installation a breeze.

Solid Door Stop
Anchored properly this stop does exactly what you need - stops a door from opening any further. Stands up to kids and dogs throwing doors open without wrecking the door's lower hinge.

-1 Star for no instructions.
This is a fine product but since it comes with absolutely NO instructions of any kind, I'm forced to deduct a star. I even went to National Hardware's website and there's really nothing of use there either! Luckily I'm pretty mechanically inclined and pride myself with having a pretty good amount of common sense (IMHO, of course), I figured it out after looking it over closely. You will need to drill TWO holes to mount this stop. One hole is for the screw that goes through the hole in the front of the rubber bumper (shown in picture) and one hole is for the machined pin that comes in the hardware bag (not shown). This "machined-pin" is silver in color and is threaded on one end. You screw the pin into the bottom of the stop (through a hole in the rubber bumper) until it is snug. Of course, if you're drilling into concrete, stone, or even through ceramic tile, you will need to use masonry drill bits as general purpose drill bits designed to drill wood or metal will NOT work here. If you've never used a masonry drill bit, there are several good YouTube videos showing you how it's done. You'll need to drill a 1/4" hole in the floor for the pin and a 5/16" hole for the screw and it's plastic insert (if the floor is concrete or stone). If the floor is wood, the hole for the screw will be smaller as you won't be using the plastic screw insert. You'll just be drilling a small hole to serve as a "pilot hole" for the screw. Regardless of what the flooring material is, the rear hole for the threaded pin will need to be 1/4". BTW - Make sure you drill the both holes deep enough for what's going into them (the pin and the screw & plastic insert). I put a little slow-curing epoxy in both holes before inserting the plastic screw insert into the slab floor. I tapped the insert into the hole as deep as it would go with a hammer and then trimmed-off the insert flush with the top of the flooring. I pushed the pin into the rear drilled hole and then inserted the screw through the stop and into the plastic insert and tightened it up snugly. I ended-up using a small ratchet that had a large phillips screwdriver bit on it as the screw was very snug in the insert. After getting the screw snug and level with the stop, the stop was secure and wasn't going anywhere! Between the screw/insert and the epoxy that I used in both of the holes, I'm confident that this piece of hardware will last MY lifetime! I hope these will help somebody a little as you get NOTHING with the stop itself.

To small for door.
Door stop’s don’t work, ordered different ones. After installing on the floor door passed over the stop.

Limitations on carpeted floor
These are beautiful low profile stops with non marking bumper. However they don't always work on carpets as they sink and are too short. I solved this with a 1/2" plywood spacer and they work perfectly. I would buy them again.
