My cat will not eat canned food. Any ideas how I could get him to take this? He's 17 and his vet reccommended it.

My kitty is over 20 years old and has lost a lot of weight, has some kidney disease, and takes methimazole for thyroid as well. I give her one capsule of Dasuquin each day. I open the capsule and mix the contents with some Delectables Senior Lickable treat with Tuna & Chicken, OR Delectables senior Broths Chicken/Tuna (liquid part only because she doesn't care for the meaty pieces), OR Friskies Lil Soups with Tuna in Chicken Broth (minus the meaty pieces). Have had no trouble as she loves those 3 treat bisques/broths. I save the meaty pieces and squish them up, add to her Pro Plan Senior Pate Salmon and Tuna for regular feeding of 3-4 meals and let her eat as much as she will eat. This is working for her, and I think the Dasuquin is helping after 3 weeks of treatment. Will continue the Dasuquin. Side note: she also like to eat Tiki Cat Senior Mousse for some meals. Petsmart has the best price on that, while Amazon seems to have the best Dasuquin price. Gotta shop around.

Has anyone tried this after using cosequin & if so is there a big difference?

Seems to work a bit better. Took about 2 weeks to see the difference. The big thing I noticed--it seems to be a bit easier on his (12 year old, big as in large not fat cat) stomach.

What size capsule is this ? Is it small enough to wrap in a treat?

Yes. It is a capsule. I use Pill Pockets Chicken flavor, flatten them with my finger and wrap the capsule with it. I then wet it with water, and pill the kitty. He's been on it for a year, two pills a day (1 in the am, 1 in the pm). He had a forearm injury last August and he also has arthritis. He's about 13 1/2 pounds and 17 yrs. old. It has made all the difference. He's like a kitten again.
