I bought this ice maker for my dad, who is a charter boat captain, and it completely solved a daily problem for him. He ended up enjoying it so much, I purchased a counter top ice maker for my own house 😆 Before this, he was constantly stopping to buy bags of ice before trips. It was expensive, sometimes unavailable, and honestly, the quality wasn’t always great. Now, he can make his own ice at home or bring this unit with him on the boat — no more last-minute stops or unreliable bagged ice. This machine works fast. It produces a batch of ice (about 6 cubes) in roughly 8 minutes and can make over 25 lbs of ice per day, which is more than enough for his needs. You can choose between two ice sizes, and the cubes have a hollow center. The texture is actually one of the best parts — they’re slightly soft (great if you like chewable ice) but still solid enough to last a long time. In a good insulated tumbler, the ice holds up extremely well. The machine is very easy to operate. Just add water and press start to begin. It’s also compact and easy to place. It stands just under a foot tall, about 9 inches wide, and roughly 10.5 inches deep, so it doesn’t take up much counter space. The handle makes it easy to move around as needed. Cleaning is simple — there’s a self-cleaning function that runs with the press of a button and takes about 30 minutes. Overall, this has been a huge upgrade for convenience, cost savings, and reliability. No more overpriced bags of ice, no weird taste, and no worrying about availability. The Antarctic Star Countertop Ice Maker has been great for quick and convenient ice at home. It’s impressive how it can produce up to 8 ice cubes in about 6 minutes, and the two size options are a nice touch depending on what you need for drinks or coolers. The compact, portable design fits well on my countertop without taking up too much space. It’s fairly quiet for a machine this size, and I appreciate that it can produce around 26 pounds of ice a day — more than enough for parties or daily use. The only minor downsides are that the ice basket isn’t very big (so you have to empty it often), and the water reservoir could be larger to avoid frequent refills. Overall, a solid countertop ice maker that delivers fast, reliable ice with minimal fuss.

It's wonderful! Produces ice very quickly and is quieter then when my fridge makes ice. It's soft ice so it's easy to chew without feeling like your going to break your teeth! So it is a wonderful Ice maker. Also that it is easily portable and have a battery adapter you can take it anywhere! I've taken it camping and all my friends and family loved it as well.

Got it today 4/4/26, love it so far, makes small cubes in just 4 minutes, I can freeze some or just make as needed, small footprint but does a great job.

Having 5 members in our household, including 3 kids who play sports year-round, we go through a lot of ice. We just threw away a name brand countertop ice machine that bit the dust after about 2 years. We have been using this one for about a month and a half now and are very pleased with it. I learned from my last one that cleaning these things regularly is extremely important to making them last. I love that this one has a cleaning button right on the front. Press the button and it goes through a cleaning cycle for about 5 minutes or so. Easy. You will also need to run some vinegar or other cleaner through it occasionally as well as wash out the inside and removable parts with soap and water. The way it's designed makes it much easier to clean than my old one. You will have to do all this with any ice maker. It produces a lot of ice in a very short time. The ice is crunchy and not super hard. Between this maker and the one built into our refrigerator, we have plenty of ice now. The design is perfect. Lower the door and scoop out what you need. As the ice in the hopper melts it simply is recycled and makes more ice. Who knows how long it will last, but so far, I have been impressed with the quality. I think as long as I keep it cleaned it will last for a long time. At this price and for the quality, I feel like this is a great deal.

I purchased this ice machine because my previous machine (GE Opal nugget ice maker) stopped making ice and I wanted a small machine to get my by until I can decide which machine I want to invest in to replace that. The Pro's: It is very reasonably priced. It is small so takes up a very small footprint. Because it is small it would be very portable and you can move it around with ease. It makes ice very quickly. The Con's: It is very small so the basket doesn't hold a lot of ice - you can fill up one cup and that's it. (thankfully it makes ice pretty quickly but it can be clunky if you need a lot of ice). It is loud when the ice is done and is being dumped in the basket. The small cubes are a lot bigger than i would expect. I haven't tried the large cubes but I am sure I would not like them because I like smaller ice cubes. Overall this is a decent machine and does the job for now.

It’s very nice ice and created in no time. The only thing I wish is that it would act as storage for the ice but you have to turn it off once you’re done making ice. It fits well on the counter.
