Perception Kayak Sound

I thought this would be the kayak I would have forever. but as soon as I got it out on the water , I was disappointed:( the tracking was pretty bad. at first I thought I was just being overly picky and I just needed to get over it, because it had so many good features: it felt very solid without being too heavy, not too long, good strong carrying handles, etc. but I had my husband watch me kayak across the lake and I was zigzagging all over. not in a major way, but enough. possibly because it has the squared off back end or because of the length? any way , I returned it and am going with a 10 foot old town at about the same price. I hope this is helpful to some one:) I have kayaked in several different brands of kayaks and never experienced this before.
