I have been using this and have noticed a difference. First off, I gained about 4lbs in the 1st week. This is just water weight as this stuff is osmotically active and really sucks the H2O into your cells. I also notice a little better muscle energy, seem less fatigued, and feel a little better after exercise. I turned into the Hulk one day while in front of the mirror... kidding of course. Important points that may make creatine work differently for me than you. I have some medical issues and basically can't eat solid food so I have been tweaking my liquid diet to try and get as well rounded as possible as I am on month 4 of full liquids. Obviously, I don't (can't) eat meat and that is where we get creatine from. Since I don't get any in my diet, I did notice a difference quickly. If you are chowing down on steak and eggs, eating massive amounts of herring, or some other natural creatine source, you may not notice as big a change as quickly as someone such as myself. I make sure to take this with juice. I like bolthouse farms juices as it is thick and has tons of fruits in it. The thickness hides the slight grittiness of the creatine. If you don't take this with something sugary, you may not get an instant boost like I did either. Creatine needs an insulin boost to be absorbed by you muscles and that is why the directions say to drink with juice :) So overall this Now product seems pretty good (I also use Now "Carbo-Gain" and it is good too) and I would guess comparable to higher priced stuff. A test is when you mix it, then drink it, is there residue left in the bottom of the glass? If yes, it is cheap and has fillers, this does not so hopefully it also fully absorbs in my body too. Good price here and I will be buying in the future as I am planning to use this in my long term meal plans.

I had used several brands of creatine before, including the Now brand. All had been effective in general and relative to each other. After several months' break, I purchased this product again. As a previous user, I know about potential side effects and in particular the need to stay hydrated. When I took the first dose, I notice that the powder's consistency was different, like it didn't dissolve as well. Unlike other reviewers, I didn't notice an off flavor, perhaps because I drink it all in one shot with an extra cup of water afterwards. Not long after, I got a headache - much stronger than any previous headache I'd ever had with creatine, and increasing my fluid intake (with a balance of minerals in the water) did nothing. I purposely did not do the five dose per day loading - sticking two doses/day for the first five days - because of the severity of the symptoms. For the next several doses, I increased my fluid intake upfront, only to get more headaches, slightly less in severity but still there. I rarely get headaches at all, creatine or not, so this was quite unusual. As an aside, I also noticed absolutely none of the positive effects that creatine usually gives - from soreness recovery to a slight increase in endurance. If I had to guess, I'd say there was absolutely no active ingredient in this product at all. Remember, I had taken Now creatine before; in fact, the product I used most recently had been the Now brand. After these unusual symptoms and lack of benefit, I determined that this product was made in China whereas my previous container (which I still have) had been manufactured in the USA. I'm not dismissing the possibility of sheer coincidence, but two things are certain: (1) the container from China had a markedly different product that had no positive effects and caused distressing negative side effects, and (2) I will not put anything food or supplement into my body that comes from China if I can help it at all. Shame on Now, once a respectable brand, for manufacturing this product in China and delivering such a poor experience.

I just recently became vegan and after taking a long break from my usual Trac Extreme NO 775 grams , I decided I wanted to start taking creatine again. I needed to find a vegan friendly Creatine and this seems to be the only one I could find. In comparison to the TRAC Extreme, the texture of the NOW creatine is like drinking flavorless sand, whereas the TRAC dissolved better. Also, the NOW brand has no flavor what so ever, which can be nice when adding it to a juice without changing the flavor. I usually like drinking my creatine with water, but I CAN NOT drink this creatine with water. It is just too sandy and because it has no flavor makes it very weird to swallow. The sandy texture actually adds a nice sort of crunchiness to juice drink however, and I like it. Performance comparison between the NOW and the TRAC, well... is almost no comparison. The TRAC gives you an incredible boost of energy! So much energy that I can barely sleep at night, which doesn't sound beneficial, but WOW! I blazed through my workouts without much effort when using TRAC. The NOW is lacking in the energy department. It's not fair to compare NOW to the TRAC because the TRAC has the added NO (where the energy boost comes from). To make up for this with the NOW brand I add Sequel Naturals Inc. - Vega Sport Pre-Workout Energizer - Lemon Lime, 19 oz powder to the mix, which seems to compliment the NOW very well prior to my workouts. Gain wise....the TRAC wins in the deparment as well. I seen major gains using the TRAC. I do see some gains with NOW creatine as well, but it is seemingly slower than the TRAC. All that being said, I know I praised the TRAC in this review, but in the end, I would still choose the NOW creatine because of the price, and also because it doesn't seem as harsh on your digestive tract. The TRAC completely annihilates your stomach. I thought it was just me at first but every person I know that tried it had the same issues. It also turns your urine neon yellow which is pretty gnarly to look at but does not seem normal. Both creatines seem to cause me some acid reflux, but the TRAC was much worse. It was so bad sometimes that I could not my workouts some days that I took it. If you really want an all in one creatine and to see gains quickly with an added energy boost without needing to add anything else such as sugary drinks or energy boosters to the mix you might be suited looking elsewhere. If you dont mind mixing it up and prefer to use a more natural and less harsh creatine as I do, then I highly recommend the NOW Creatine.

Creatine is one of the few health supplements on the market that most experts agree on will promote muscle growth and possibly increase high-intensity workout performance. Since I can find no proven data that shows one brand of creatine is better than the other I look for and buy the least expensive creatine supplement from a reliable source that I can find, which is why I have used this NOW Sports Monohydrate Creatine Powder several times over the last couple of years. I will admit I was drawn into buying a micronized creatine powder previously as this powder was supposed to dissolve better when mixing in liquids. What I found was that this more expensive micronized powder did dissolve just a little bit better than standard creatine powder, however it still did not dissolve completely in liquid so for me the slight benefit was not worth the extra cost. Also, I was a little worried before after my last order after reading a few reviews stating that the NOW Sports Monohydrate Creatine Powder had changes and now has a "horrible taste and smell". However, the monohydrate creatine powder I ordered has no weird smell or taste. So does this NOW Sports Monohydrate Creatine Powder work? I couldn't tell you as I'm not sure if any muscle growth or extra energy can be attributed to this powder, or to working out and eating better. But for the rather inexpensive price, even if any muscle or stamina gains are purely coincidental I'm still going to keep using creatine powder. I've posted two pictures below. 1) Shows the creatine powder in a glass of room temperature water after stirring vigorously for 15 seconds and then letting the powder settle in the water. (Yes I wish the powder would dissolve completely after a few stirs, but this is not a deal breaker to me.) 2) This pic shows suggested usage and other information found on the product label. I hope some of this information was helpful. Update: I stored the sealed jar with water and creatine powder that I used for the pic below in the fridge to drink later. Over the last 9 days I shook the jar to mix the contents at least once per day. To my astonishment 9 days later the creatine powder still settles back to the bottom of the jar every time, looking pretty much like the first time I originally attempted to mix it. 🤔

I bought it and did not work for me although before purchase I did lots of research and found other brands with additives, not made in US, not a vegan formula. Now Foods is a better choice only if it will work for you. Creatine is a potent formula which needs to be used with caution. Not a dietary supplement like advertised which is a lie and one needs to be a chemist to figure how they can make this amino acid when it is a production of animal flesh yet it is defined as vegan by NOW Foods. I was advised that this should not be mixed with protein isolate which I have been consuming for years before workouts not post workouts. After my workouts I consume fish majority of the time. There are other brands selling for less but not the same formula. Need to read ingredients. Only acceptable form is when Ingredients: Creatine Monohydrate, Made in USA not Manufactured in USA containing ingredients of international and domestic origin. Only vegetarian/vegan formula specifying Contains no: sugar, salt, starch, yeast, wheat, gluten, corn, soy, milk, egg, shellfish or preservatives. This is 2.2 lb with 200 serving of 5gr which serves at least 200 days. Creatine levels are suppose to be around .75 to 1.5 in men where you can find out through a blood test. The amount of creatine in human body does not fluctuate much unless you consume loads of animal flesh, meat and fish with amino acids. Mixes fine with ground seeds and nuts for digestion. Consuming less than 5gr and only when working out heavy especially pumping iron not mixed with anything else, no protein isolate or concentrate or anything else since those need to be consumed apart from each other in few hours, in powder form without any additives. Not for diabetic, with liver, kidney or any other health issues. Muscle cramping and diarrhea are inherent part of creatine among many other issues with added consumption. Mayo Clinic has very good info that you can read up and educate yourself for many, many side affects which infact can be too many. Even the labelling claims ""For continuous use beyond 28 days, use one serving daily."" that itself tells you how potent this product is with side affects. Creatine is naturally synthesized in the human body from amino acids primarily in the kidney and liver and transported in the blood for use by muscles. Approximately 95% of the body's total creatine content is located in skeletal muscles. Creatine is slowly metabolized in muscle tissue to creatinine (creatine to creatine phosphate to creatinine). Creatinine may be cleared through skeletal muscle and the kidney a key player in the metabolism of skeletal muscle. Creatine use is common among football players, wrestlers, hockey players, gymnasts, and lacrosse players. In 1998, the creatine market in the United States was estimated at $200 million. In 2000, the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) banned colleges from distributing creatine to their players. Go figure.
