Weather proof not sure??
I put this out side ABOVE the pond and filter water level so no chance of syphoning back to pump and it was under cover out of the weather or so I thought but it still managed to get wet although the rain was quite heavy at the time and it tripped the rcd in the house fuse box,the reason I know it was this in the first place is my electrics wouldn't turn back on until the pump was unplugged aswell as never having this problem before, until I plugged this pump in and it started raining although I originally thought it might of got hot and over heated until i saw drips coming from the bottom of it where the wire is, , so I took the pump apart and rain had got in it between the black metal plate and gone into the copper winding around magnet inside, so I dried it out on radiator for a day and all was good again been OK since although its now completely covered. its been 2 to 3 weeks and it hasn't happened again since its been completely covered but it does need some air as it gets quite hot even out side but so far so good.
