Really hard -- Old product???
I have to say that I normally LOVE Glazol. I owned a nearly 100 year old house with 50 windows and reglazed almost half of them. Glazol was superior to other products I tried. So, when I had to reglaze windows at my camp and couldn't find Glazol locally in any of the hardware or big box stores, I paid more than I should have for a can of it on Amazon, but I thought it would be money well spent. I was disappointed to find the product was very, very hard. I know what "fresh" Glazol is like to work with, so maybe this can was older-- ?? Or maybe Glazol changed their formula--?? I cannot say for sure. I managed to make it work, and I hope it holds up, but it wasn't worth the added expense or frustration.

Dried out
I bought 2 cans - one was very workable, the other was dried out and crumbled easily. Both appeared to be factory sealed and unopened.

Good for old window painting projects!
It's great to glaze old windows(I'm painting the glass )Just remember don't use it to fill holes or knot holes on wood that you want to stain because its oil based and doesn't harden like some other wood "putty".It remains flexible like silicone and should be painted over after a primer then enamel paint.Mineral spirits removes it.

I have a 100-year-old house with all original windows. I reglazed windows about 8 years ago with DAP and all windows need to be redone. I attended an old window workshop hosted by This Old House and the UGL Glazol product was recommended as being superior and longer lasting that DAP.
