Subways (Pull Ahead Books ― Mighty Movers)

My son - 5 years old - is fascinated with subways - we do live in NYC after all - and he wanted a subway book very badly. we saw one in the subway shop in Grand Central Station that was way too much money - this was a much better option. The picture are real photos, the sentences are pretty simple - he can read many of the words himself - and those no actual story / plot - just description of the subways - ticket booths - they are underground - etc.... - he enjoyed the book anyway. Overall the book is OK because it gets my son interested in reading a book - so probably if you child likes subways - it is a good book to hold their reading interest.

This is an informative book yet still great for toddlers & preschoolers. Real pictures of subways & their passengers. It's a small book but lots of info & pictures.

My 19 month old son really loves this book. The pictures and narrative show a step by step process to riding the subway which my son understands and enjoys learning about. The more we've read the book and ridden the subway ourselves the last couple months he is showing he comprehends using a ticket to board the subway, waiting for the train and watching for the lights, entering the doors and sitting on seats or standing holding the pole. It is a small, almost pamphlet like book but that is perfect for travel or the stroller so I'm totally fine with it. We bought this one and another small paperback on subways and this is the better of the two.

My train obsessed first grader loves this book! It is at his level to read, which is great and the hi-res pictures make the whole book come to life.

I bought this for a four year old. He loves it! The combination of pictures and information is just right, and it is a great selection of content.

This is now my son's favorite book. He loves the subway, and this book has some nice photos and very basic info about the subway. The book is smaller in size than I thought, but it's still fun.

Good book for transportation study and just bought it for my classroom.

Great for kids, but also crafters of any age if you don't mind cutting up paperbacks. I really like the abundance of good photos and was able to use them for some art projects which is why I bought this little booklet.
