I love this dual compartment garbage/recycling can. It holds a lot and looks great too. I tie a knot in the tie on one side of the garbage bag and place it in the can and the bag fits tight and does not come undone.

I couldn't believe how much I paid for a garbage can, but it's ended up being exactly what we needed. There's not a thing I've come across that bothers me yet. It stays put, doesn't slide on hard flooring. The lids open easily, and aren't very noisy when they close. Doesn't seem to fingerprint too badly. The removable containers have a hole near the top of each so you can anchor your garbage bag. Keeps in smell pretty decent. I haven't tried to change or re-order the charcoal filters yet, but they do stick a QR code right inside one lid for when you need them. It's been pretty handy all around. Last thought, not a complaint because they're a good size for my household, but be aware the individual containers aren't huge.

Love this trashcan/recycling bin duo! Could it be a little larger, probably but works for our needs and I love the pedals to open the tops! Durable! Easy to clean! Id say money well spent!

I love this combo trash/recycling can! Been using it for several weeks now. It’s sleek, easy to keep clean and a breeze to empty and reload a new bag. I noticed other reviews where people complained about the bag sticking out or not being able to get it to secure tightly around the top. There is a little hole with a hook at the back right corner. It takes a bit to figure out the trick with hooking the bag through there that works best for you. But once you figure it out, you won’t have those issues. I’ve attached a few photos. Highly recommend this product.

Strange when putting in garbage bags because then it won’t close all the way. It takes some maneuvering. But the mechanism that allows it to close slowly broke! The plastic bit broke so now it slams shut. I was shocked something at this price level Would break like that in a matter of days.

Tried this out because I wanted to save a couple bucks rather than buying from a bigger brand that’s slightly more expensive and that I knew you had to buy their bags. I assumed this SimpliMagic allowed you to put in regular garbage bags since there is no specific bag code like the other bins out there. However, immediately I noticed that regular trash bags bunch up, fall down, or just don’t stay. Some people have mentioned not using a bag at all which is guess is fine for the recyclables side (make sure to rinse and dry glass and cans well) but it wouldn’t do this for the side with regular trash. Sure, the insert bin pulls out but layers of rotting caked up food in the nooks and crannies of that thing is a no-go for me. Lastly, the design is just kind of weird. It mentions a feature for the lid to stay open. I feel like the quality of the lid opening is then messed up because I did that once and now my lid doesn’t open all the way. Also, it often takes multiple times to get the insert to slide into the correct position for the lids to close. Alas, it’s just a trash bin but it’s a real bummer for the price point that it doesn’t do any of the things that I paid for it to do. If I’d known this, I would have paid more money to buy the original bin that it’s ripping off.

We were delighted by the idea of this dual can. One side for trash, one side for recycling. The pros are that it looks much nicer than the original trash can with a seperate rycling can. The cons are many. The size of bag needed for the can are much more expensive. The regular bags we have always used in or previous cans can be used, but they make it difficult to close the top of the can becuase of the excess plastic material (they are larger bags (almost twice the size). We have tried many different ways to put the bags in the removeable bin, and still as soon as we throw something away, the bag comes away from the bin and spills into the plastic bin or the metal part of the bin. The side we use for recycling is difficult as well. In order to prevent the plastic bin from getting messy, sticky, dirty, etc, we have to line it with a bag. But we can't put plastic bags of any kind in our recycling, so we end up pouring it out of the bag and then throwing the bag we had lined our can with in the garbage. We can't reuse it because it gets little holes and tears in it from the recyclables, or the inside of the bag gets wet from the recycleables inside. We though about making sure all the recyclables are dry before putting them in the recycling side of the can, but aside from hand drying each item that was wet, the time and energy to do that is ridiculous. We also tried leaving them on our counter to dry but then the counter is cluttered. It is past the return time frame for us to return this bin, so we can't return it. I wish I had thought this purchase through before making it. I hate this can.
