Q: Received this from a friend with no owners manual, how much oil per bowl?

I use 1 tablespoon of coconut oil per half cup of popcorn kernels.

Q: Every time I make popcorn with some oil, it leaks under the machine afterwards and creates a mess underneath.

I don't have this problem. Perhaps you are using too much oil. The directions that came with the corn popper provide the proper amount of oil per popcorn kernels used. I hope this helps. I also leave the red lid off when popping. It melts the butter faster and provides better air circulation; just make sure you put the lid on before flipping the popper over. :)

Have no idea. Have never heard of popping sorghum.
