Steinel LED Spotlight XLED Home 2 S Graphite, Adjustable Floodlight, Exterior Light, 13.7 W, 180° Motion Sensor Spotlight for Garden, Patio Garage or Warehouse

I purchased this light to match some other Steinel exterior light fittings. Whilst not cheap, they are all very high quality fittings. We have just had our house rendered so the smart grey finish of these lights really contrast well against the light finish of the render. I particularly like the fact there are no external cables or fixings visible. The cable enters the rear of the lamp fitting and is all hidden. It’s actually really easy to fit as well as the rear fitting it’s screwed to the wall and the cable terminated into a terminal block. Once the electrics have been dealt with it’s a simple matter of wiring the 2 wires on the fitting to the other side of the terminal block and then locating it onto the rear fitting before securing with a small screw. The PIR is extremely sensitive and has a very wide field of view, this can be reduced by using a portion of the grey self adhesive mask that can be applied to make the sensor more narrow. There are 2 small adjusters on the bottom of the PIR, one for the light sensor and the other for the duration of how long the light stays on for. I would recommend this fitting, and keep an eye on the Amazon warehouse - I saved a considerable amount by purchasing a ‘returned’ unit that was still as good as new (albeit the box was a tad scruffy!)

I spent many hours researching different types of security lights. I was debating between the Steinel and Auraglow and decide t on getting the Steinel. The product came in a smaller box with all the fittings inside. The instructions were clear and was put on as a new light versus replacing an old one. The electrician immediately commented the build quality and reputable brand name (I have no clue what was great and glad my research paid off). The white version really helps it blend in with the soffit above my garage and looks great. I was originally nervous whether the smaller version would be large enough above a single garage and driveway and nearly bought the XL version instead. However, it produces a near blinding light to illuminate the area and you can adjust the density and duration with two twist adjusters underneath the unit. The XL would’ve been overkill in my opinion. The fact you can angle it so you (don’t) annoy your neighbours is great and the motion sensor picks you up really well.A good tip to get the light on at your preferred darkness is to actually go out stand underneath and wait for it to go off. Then slowly turn the dial until it comes on again, that way it will always come on at the time you’d like it to!This is the best looking security light versus those black plastic ones you get at your local comprehensive schools.I can’t comment on longevity as just got it fitted but no doubt this will last.

I bought one of these and had an electrician put it up on the front of my garage as part of a rewire in October 2017. I think he may have given it a knock when installing it, as some time later I noticed a crack on the side of the housing. A couple of years later the front fell off the lens in the wind, revealing the LED's. I glued it back on. A year or so later it fell off again and I glued it back again.Eventually, in December 2021 I was walking past the light and it came on as normal then after a few seconds blew with a flash and a loud crackle that my wife heard from inside the house. Obviously it tripped the circuit. I was not surprised to find that it was full of water, and was surprised it had lasted so long after the front cover had been glued back on.I like the look of the light and the way it works so ordered another one to replace it right away. It only took me about 5 minutes to fit the new one as the backplate design it still the same and I used the old one that was already attached to the garage wall, so it is just a few wires to connect to the terminal block and one screw to attach the light to the back plate. The new one has a warmer light than the old one and looks brighter to both myself and my wife, although the wattage is the same.The motion detection on these is great and you don't get any "false alarms", as they only come on when something like a person, cat etc comes into range.Despite what some people have said, I have found that the lights can be moved by the wind. Not a problem for me as it is mounted quite low and I can just reach up and readjust the angle, but both the light itself and the PIR sensor on my old one moved several times in the wind over the 4 years I had it. There is a strong feeling click action on the adjustment for the light itself but strong wind DOES move it. The PIR moves around more easily. This might be a point worth considering if you are going to mount it high up.It remains to be seen if the front falls off this one or that only happened to the old one due to some damage when the electrician installed it. I am hopeful that the product itself is good, hence why I bought a second one.I have the higher wattage version of this light installed on the back of my garage pointing at my garden, it was installed in October 2017 and is still going strong with no issues, and that one has never moved in the wind at all.

Overall very happy - the motion sensor could detect a little further out for my liking but will play with the settings a bit more and see what happens. I never know how to judge what the brightness of these lights will really be in the real world but this is a super bright white light which was exactly what I wanted as we had a fairly big area to cover. Previously used an old halogen spot light which worked amazingly but this new light is just as good and actually has a wider light coverage than the old school bulb. Very simple to install and is working fine so far (1 month in).

Installed this June 2018. Have to say not as robustly made, with thin plastic, compared to other Steinel products I have.In March 2020 the light’s translucent face plate came off, and LEDs exposed to wind/rain. Glued face plate back on, but LEDs just glowed dimly.Replaced with Steinel LS 150 LED with is much better quality materials, and seems far more robust.

Nach 2 Jahren musste der bei einem Discounter erworbene LED-Strahler ausgetauscht werden, da der Fehlerstrom- Schutzschalter ausgelöst wurde. Offensichtlich war Feuchtigkeit ins Gehäuse eingedrungen und machte eine weitere Nutzung unmöglich. Bei der Demontage stellte ich fest, das die Halterung bereits stark angerostet war und überhaupt der ganze Strahler sich in keinem guten Zustand mehr befand.Deshalb habe ich mich entschlossen, deutlich mehr Geld zu investieren und habe den Kauf des LED-Strahlers von Steinel nicht bereut.Verpackung, Anleitung und die einfache Montage eines bis ins Detail durchdacht konstruierten Produktes begeistern mich immer noch. Beispielsweise verhindern 3 kleine Distanzbuchsen aus Plastik, dass das Gehäuse überhaupt mit der Garagenwand und damit mit herabfließendem Regenwasser direkt in Kontakt kommen kann. Reichweite (10 m) und Erfassungswinkel (180 Grad) sind hervorragend. Das abgestrahlte Licht (eher warmweiß) ist ausreichend hell und stufenlos sowohl horizontal als auch vertikal in einem sehr großen Bereich verstellbar.Dieses Produkt hat nach meinem bisherigen Eindruck und den ersten Wochen der Nutzung seine 5 Sterne wirklich verdient.

Ik had meerder van deze lampen in gebruik er zijn er reeds 3 defect en eentje heb ik voor nu kunnen herstellen. Telkens het zelfde probleem van de witte plaat voor de leds laat de lijmlaag los en dan kortsluiting of heel de leds vallen uit het armatuur.
