You'll soon find out how good your vocabulary skills are!
I played this game on vacation with my sister and my husband. We had a ball! The words were familiar but not, strange or not, but all fun to learn about. You'll learn new stuff and laugh doing it.

Great Gift for the Wordy Pal
I bought this for a friend at work who loves interesting words. She was so excited to play this with her family. She said she played it over the phone with her kids and they had a great time.

Not written in U.S. English.
This game is a great way to expand vocabulary. It made us laugh at many points when we were guessing at the definitions. The spelling of some words differ from that found in the U.S. English however for us that isn’t a bother and even adds to the learning. Likewise some of the phonetic pronunciations differ from that of U.S. English.I do wish the rules/scoresheet had more than ten points to win. Of course we can have “house rules” but since there is a scoresheet with the numbers 1-10 we want to use that as well.Game time for 2 players was 25-30 minutes.

Maintaining vocabulary as a senior citizen
Great product for me in testing, maintaining, and building my vocabulary as a senior citizen with a family history of alzheimer's disease.

British English
This box comes with 300 word cards and 2 words per card, so theoretically it's easy to learn the words as you play and the play goes quickly. It's better for a team game than for 2 people who have excellent vocabularies. But it is a challenge to come up with a concise definition when one understands the gist of the word. There are "punish" clues on the cards that are humorous. But in general way too expensive for a short-lived game. This is British English, so if you are familiar with British literature, you'll enjoy it more.

Great for children and adults alike.
I bought this game primarily to play with my nine-year-old grandchild and we have had lots of fun playing it. Her vocabulary is very good and therefore she finds it really encouraging to play this game. But I have also played it with an adult friend and that proved to be great fun too - lots of laughter and some enjoyable embarrassment as we found we didn’t know the exact meaning of quite as many words as we thought we did.. It’s beautifully packaged and very attractive and will make a great present for Christmas. I shall be ordering some more!

Fun and challenging for all
This is a game similar to one our family have played at Christmas for at least three generations. In our version each player takes it in turn to choose a slightly obscure dictionary word, and everyone else writes their own definition, and the "correct" and "incorrect" ones are mixed and read by the "chooser". Everyone else votes for what they think the definition is, and points are earned accordingly. This game is a more organised way of playing but along similar lines. We have played it as directed, and also used the cards instead of the dictionary to find suitable words. Recommended for fun, a challenge and to enrich your word power.

Superb and witty word game...
What a superb and witty game. Ideal for adults, teenagers, vocabulary enthusiasts, lovers of lexica, book worms or just those who enjoy teasing their brains. A merry game to while away a Sunday afternoon with family and friends. The perfect amuse bouche for pre-dinner entertainment or post-dinner word play . Wordsmithery has provided me with hours of enjoyment and has reignited my passion for words. If words are your thing, you might also enjoy the brilliant book “How to sound clever” which is a great companion to this game. Very much my “go to” gift for Xmas and birthday presents. Enjoy.

Fun game for all ages
Have greatly enjoyed playing this with people of all ages. Like the fact that there are some cards aimed more at kids. Loads of words in there that you feel that you know, but find hard to describe, so great from that point of view. Can also be played quickly, which is always a plus in my book! Can see this being a default Christmas present for a few friends.
