Directions rudimentary and only picures
The final installation ended up OK. But the directions were nearly worthless. I mounted the double barn doors (that I made from reclaimed fencing wood) over a utility room door. The two center screws went nicely into the header. The other screws were into drywall. The instructions had a retarded method of drilling a hole and then pounding a large wood dowel in that you were then supposed to drill a hole in to put the large wood screw into. That of course didn't work as the first wood dowel fell into the wall the first time I tried to drill a hole in it. I then tried to predrill into the dowels but they split. I had to go to several different Home Depot and hardware stores to find drywall anchors and bolt combinations that would work. I finally got them mounted securely due to my own ingenuity and resourcefulness (and Ace Hardware's amazing selection of bolts). Conspicuously absent from the drywall section at Home Depot was the "wood dowel method of drywall anchors".Then when I went to mount the wheels to the doors, it took trial and error to find the right location that would allow the doors to clear the floor and fit on the rail because the directions tired to show the method of mounting about a dozen different types of wheels without being specific to the ones that I ordered. I had Style 1 on the instructions but the measurements made no sense.Once hung, they seem to glide nicely but the process was difficult due to the poor directions. Overall, this hardware is not bad but the directions definitely need work, as does the process of mounting the rail to drywall with no studs behind.

It will hold a 140 pound door OK
The bearings make a clicking noise with such a heavy door, but it operates smooth enough. The hardware is of pretty good quality, however the standoffs were a little shy of what I needed. I did not want to put a board on the drywall to secure the rail with because it would have caused the door to stand off too far from the wall. I also discovered that the studs where the door was to be mounted were not evenly spaced, so only about 3 of the holes built into the rail were usable. I had to drill holes though the rail for the rest. I didn't feel like the lag bolts that came with the kit were strong enough or long enough, so I ended up buying slightly thicker and longer bolts at a local hardware store. I had to use some large washers as shims to adjust the standoff length. In the end it has worked out well, but quite a bit of extra 'customization' was needed to make this work.

Easy assembly. Meh installation.
OK. I get it. In some home construction, 16" is a guideline, not a rule. But this hardware makes no allowances at all for standard stud distances, so do not bank on their or your measurements. Someone mentioned molly bolts for drywall reinforcement, so I am going to give those a shot. But if you are not sure you trust the weight of your barn doors to heavy duty drywall anchors, you might consider buying another hardware solution. The solution provided is some odd 9/16" wooden dowels that are somehow supposed to stay in place in half inch drywall while you drive bolts into them. Good for 5cm worth of plaster, not so much for sheet rock. Your mileage may vary.

Overall pretty good but it will help quite a bit if you are handy. Make sure you have backing (wood behind the wall when building new) to bolt to. If you don't you may have to put a finish backer board on the wall because the holes in rail will not line up to your wall studs. I had to cut the door bolts off because they where too long for the finish cap nuts. The bottom door guide is a plastic vertical fin and in my opinion it is just not tall enough to use in a slotted door bottom if your room has carpet so you might consider buying an after market wall mounted guide. (not cheap so I made my own out of a piece of flat steel). The last point is that the splice hardware fits very tight. I had to knock it together with a block of wood and a hammer. The spring loaded door stops are cool and work great. For the price it looks great and works great. Just be prepared to do a little extra work.

Great barn door hardware!
Great hardware but not the best instructions. There's only a small paper of instructions but does a decent job. To drill through the doors to mount the actual roller, you'll need a 7/16" drill bit in order for the hardware to push through to the threaded roller bolts. At least for the CJ-01/02/04/06/07/08/09/10/11/12/13 model hardware

Great design and easy installation.
Well designed and easy to install. Before purchasing we viewed YouTube sites to see different styles and installations. This help in making our decision and we were prepared for the installation. Had to cut 2” off to fit the wall and it easy to do with a saw. Definitely recommend

Don’t Buy
The hardware with this kit is not the most user friendly and while they try and offer a “simplistic” look and minimize any bolts or nuts showing, it actually makes things worse. Also, doors were hung and installed according to specs in hardware instructions yet the doors continue to come off the tracks. Final note is that since the stopper with this kit is spring loaded, doors shoot back if slid too hard/fast.

Way cheaper than hiring someone
My boyfriend and I purchased this to install barn doors...we are converting our dining room into a nursery. He said the instructions that came with it did not make sense, but he was still able to install just fine.

This is not very heavy hardware as it looks to be in the description.
I expected it to be MUCH heavier construction. Disappointed in the material used to manufacture this. Purchased a different one at a local hardware that was more money but much, much heavier construction that I was looking for.
