These are great! I've bought several for friends. Make sure that you use a sunscreen that is of a thin consistency to get the best application otherwise the roller ball sticks. I used this on my 2 year old and my 10 year old is able to use it on her own. You'll still need to rub the lotion in a bit but it is much less messy then without.When the sponge came off of the applicator I simply put a few drops of super glue, reattached it and it hasn't come off again.

I have been using this with babyganics mineral sunscreen for a few weeks and have been very pleased. I have 3 kids so I appreciate how much quicker it is to apply sunscreen to everyone and my older daughter loves being able to apply it by herself. So far no leaking or anything which is also great.

Love this product!! Ability to apply sunscreen on kids and myself without getting it on my hands especially on my rings! An awesome product - I wish I knew about it 32 years ago when I started my career as a nanny!!

I like this product, it is convinient. Just wish more sunscreen would come out. Also, a bit hard to use on face and neck.

Have used these all summer. Great way for grandkids to put on suntan lotion.

Bottom line- DO NOT BUY THIS. DOES NOT WORK. Tried with multiple suncreens and within 20 minutes of application, got EXTREMELY burned in the spot I used the "Solar Buddy Applicator". DO. NOT. BUY. I am so upset with this purchase.

Great product for first few uses, but foam piece needed for application detaches quickly rendering useless.

How did we manage before the solar buddy?! This has literally been my saviour and I'd give ten stars if I could! My daughter has autism and significant sensory issues. She hates the feeling of sun lotion and applying sun protection has been the bane of my life for as long as I can remember, even as a tiny baby she would go crackers when I applied lotion and try to get away from it. However, when lotion is applied using the solar buddy it feels different- just the right amount of lotion is applied and it doesn't feel sticky or tacky. Also the sponge moves it around without the need to lose most of the lotion on your hands and because of the pressure of the roller movement it is much more bearable. My daughter even applies her own lotion now and feels in control. It saves lugging a big bottle around with you too. We now have three solar buddies- one for the school bag and one for each car... and I tell all my friends about it because it really has been a game changer in our house. I'm not exaggerating... see for yourself.

Saw these advertised on Facebook with good reviews thought I would give them a try, I was thinking they would be more helpful with filling and using in bags to carry out and wow I am so impressed with how much easier it was to apply to my 2 year old and cover him well and i managed to avoid covering hems and collars in cream (which is my usual trick which then stain clothes) I don’t normally place reviews unless promoted and nagged to do so (I have a two year old I don’t have time) but I really felt the need to log on and give this product 5 stars so others who are considering trying can see that they are really worth it. I will be recommending to all my friends!

It started quite well but the novelty wore off as quick as the sponges.Perhaps I should have realised that a company that send you additional bases know that they are so poorly made they have to send you replacements in advance. Imagine buying a car and the dealership giving you a spare engine. Not a good sign.

I bought this after some major issues getting my 5 year old to have suncream applied. It has been an absolute game changer. She will happily have it applied by me and once I have applied the main coat she is quite capable and happy to put subsequent coats on herself.I filled mine with spray type lotion which is really too thin for this device. However I didn’t put too much in so it worked fine. Once I have used all that up I will replace with thicker lotion.All in all I am absolutely delighted with this product. I would be quite confident sending her off to school with it and it took the stress out of the long hot days where every morning started with hysterics

It seems a good idea but i just found it too messy. For me its easier just to buy the spray bottle and use that because it has to be filled with sun cream and then the sponge is a bit messy the cream comes out too fast. I'm not saying don't consider it because it might work differently for someone else. It was small and easy to carry so ideal for small bags. Try it and see really.
