Superwinch 2236 Quick Connect Electrical Connector fits Winches up to 18000lbs

These things are great. The caps keep the water out and they make nice reliable high-current connections every time (I used them in a battery isolator setup, but I imagine most would use them for a winch or something similar).The only complaint I have is that the terminals themselves are an absolute bear to crimp, even using a proper crimping tool and a sledgehammer. I don't know how the pros do it, but I had a heck of a time.

I bought these for use as connectors for jumper cables.I chose to crimp the tips on without soldering. They are, of course, holding on just as one would expect. I used 2G wire on each side. The battery side has fairly thin insulation and consisted of several fairly thick copper wires while the jumper cables have very thick insulation and consisted of many very thin copper wires. Both sets of tips seem very solid and the fit was not a problem.After crimping, I put on some heat shrink and clipped the tips into place. Everything locks in quite solidly and the connectors seem to be making strong contact with each other. I am able to get at least 150 Amps over the cables through these connectors.The dust covers I received were not like those pictured. They were instead like the covers pictured on the Tuff Stuff  WINCH QUICK CONNECTOR . I do not see this as a problem for my purposes, but I can see where the rubber tether and loop may not be what others want.The polarity indicators are not very easy to read, but the connectors only clip on one way and I used coloured wires which makes this particular issue only relevant during install. If you have the need to connect the tips to things that are not themselves using a matching quick connect (battery charger comes to mind), then I recommend using coloured wires as well.

Easy to install, works great on winches, inverters, ect. The back is not sealed and water will run inside and corrode or freeze, I have broken two of these and I do not use them roughly. I recommend installing in a manner that protects it from physical hazards and water.

These connections were installed to the 12-volt power source on several different vehicles (Avalanche, Bronco, Kubota 900 RTV, and for 24-Flatbet Trailer) so that my winch system can be portable enough to use in any location (instead of having to have several winchs). With the extended 25' 2-ga power lead I can even anchor my winch to a tree or some other anchor point (as long as I can drive within 25' of it with any of my vehicles that have the quick connect installed. Very easy to assemble, and with the quick disconnect (positive +, and negative -) being clearly defined, it makes for foolproof assembly and use.

The product is top quality, functions as I needed. Only thing I didn't like is that the picture shows these to have a steel cable attached to the caps where mine were molded rubber. Thats kind of why I chose these over the other connectors.

Easy to use and protective caps is a must if going to mount in weather. Had to drop one star due to mfg putting the extra little plastic in middle which prevents easy use with other brand.

High quality ...easy to assemble quick disconnects for battery cable. I use these with my Warn winch receiver-hitch mount. One piece permanently on the battery. One short wire piece on the winch for front mounting. 2nd set on an extension cable that I can run to my rear receiver hitch or a different vehicle's hitch. Recommend a hammer indent lug crimper and some heat shrink tubing. Expect years of service. Only downside is finding a replacement lug if there is a problem with corrosion or broken wire. Covers are not those in picture, but are of same high quality as other components.

Product works great, as many other reviews have stated, the rubber boot cover is junk, it falls of and dose not keep water and rubbish out.

Used these to make a quick release system for my subwoofer box, which also houses my amplifier and cacacitor in my Durango. These connectors are my perfect solution. 4 gauge wire connectors mean I can upgrade to any amplifier I want, down the road. The rubber caps hat are included protect the plug and reduce the likelihood that an electrical short will occur. Bigger then expected, had smaller Quick Connects made by the same company the smaller ones were still bigger then I needed but melted on first use; hopefully these will work better.

Tried to find a high amperage disconnect terminal locally but too expensive. These Superwinch quick connect are highly rated at a reasonable price. Soldered my cable in the terminals and snap them in the connector. They work great.

just the thing for powering my boat trailer winch.
