LMC5 Module with Unlocker and Tool Kit - C5 Corvette steering column lock bypass module with unlocking device and tool kit

Our steering wheel was completely locked up in our 2000 Corvette and we were unable to move. The kit arrived quickly and had very easy to understand instructions. The only tricky part was removing some of the wires from the pin connectors that plug into the BCM. It took me a little less than an hour to complete the entire project and our 2000 Corvette is up and running like a champ. We have been receiving some additional trouble codes on the dash and may have to do one further procedure that was supplied with the kit. It is called a brown wire procedure. It is not always necessary but in our case it will be to prevent the trouble code of having to shut the car off wait for 10 seconds then started up and go. All in all, it is a great product it does exactly as it says it well. I would recommend this kit to anyone that has a Corvette with symptoms of a locked steering wheel, fuel being shut off for no reason, and odd messages being displayed on the dash.

I took my time with the installation of the LMC5 module. The instructions are very clear to understand. I like that the instructions took into account many possible scenarios the installer may confront. I think that it helps to not jump into conclusions, as far as whether to install the brown wire or not. After the installation was completed, I had both doors opened when I turn the key to on, but I did not start the car. The first thing I saw was door ajar....so I turn the car back to off. Closed the car doors and turned the car back to the on position a second time. I did see only once the pull key message, so I thought that maybe I needed to connect the brown wire, but I thought that maybe the BCM may need a third attempt to reset or configure itself. I choose not to connect the brown wire and started the car. It ran fine and no pull key was seen. I test drove in my driveway and then took the C5 corvette for a long 60 mile drive. I had 6 successful starts with no pull key message, so I am assuming that the brown wire is not needed and that the module works great. The reason that I installed the LMC5 was that my car (May 1998 - Corvette, Automatic) started to shut off after barely going forward and backwards too, as people describe it "2 mph shutoff. " I believe that this module has fix my issue. I feel so much safer with the LMC5 installed on my Corvette. Thank you.

This product is a must buy for any C5 owner. My car had the column lock recall performed, so I thought I was okay. But the recall only prevents the wheel from locking, if the fault code happens, it will still trigger the fuel shut off preventing you from driving the car. So I ordered the LMC5 and the problem is fixed. Installation was not too difficult. Took about 20 minutes. The included printed instructed are detailed but watching a youtube installation video from compliance parts was super helpful.

Worked as advertised. All instructions were included and I needed them all. I have a previously modified relay installed that failed and a #23 fuse failure. It was a tight squeeze to get at the BCM but, once installed I was able to unlock my steering and bypass the column lock going forward. Well worth the money considering the GM dealer wanted to 'fix' the locking issue and for $650. Based on my reading I was sure it would just fail again since the presence of the relay indicated it was 'fixxed' once before. Saved me about $600! Highly recommend all C5 owners get this kit.

I have a C-5 and I'm no mechanic but I installed this in about an hour myself, great instructions and simple to install, worst part was the awkward position you have to be in to fix it but I highly recommend this, it fixed my pull key and wait ten seconds message and also the service steering column message.

Great product! Simplicity of installation. Excellent installation instructions. This product has resolved a recurring problem with the c5 Corvette. I recommend ANYONE that has a c5 Corvette to buy this and install it. If you haven't had a problem with your steering column (and I doubt it) purchase and install it ASAP because down the road I guarantee you WILL have a problem.

I had this item installed by a professional mechanic; it does not work as advertised, the instructions are not correct, and their "phone tech support" is totally unavailable. If I could give it 0 stars, I certainly would! It will be returned.
