Unfortunately, prior to their arrival I hadn't read the review telling potential purchasers that the screw is fixed. This should be in the details of the product. £19.90 wasted so not happy !

Great to use when mending fences after a gale
Mending fences after a gale. Supplier had delivery problems - probably lost in post, but made up for it by sending next batch by courier, arriving a bit late but just about OK

No idea why they're designed like this - seems a bit daft to me
Careful there! Make sure you realise the (very large) screw is attached and a firm one it is as well! Therefore it is not suitable if your fence posts/panels are already in place, as screwing can't occur. It's only suitable if you are putting them into position post-screwing. Now, this was mentioned in the description, but those in a hurry to get their fences erect in the garden following some inclement weather might miss it! No idea why they're designed like this - seems a bit daft to me. And, yes, my fence was already up (and very firmly too) in the garden by the time I was ready to screw. Sad times.
