Great Priced Wine
This is a great wine, usually retailing at approx £8/bottle. Plum, Blackcurrent and a hint of spice. The wine is very young and has a reasonable amount of body to it. Matches superbly with Red Meat, Italian tomato based dishes, salami, bacon flavoured crisps, chili nachos, chocolate, black forest gateau, cheese, bombay spice mix and annoying social gatherings.Decanted into a ships decanter and allowed to breath for an hour it really does taste superb, however who can wait for an hour? At this price you can open the first bottle, while the second one breathes. The fact I can now order on Prime for next day delivery, hides my growing alcohol dependency from my local retailers.

Good VFM!
A nice, drinkable wine.I drink a lot of Chardonnay grape, and for the price, delivered-in, this is a good, solid bottle of wine.I buy from wine clubs, and from supermarkets, and consider this to be better value than either of those sources, for the price. The trouble with wine, is that there's so much variation in price, and quality is very much a subjective thing. On top of that, I genuinely believe that one's palate varies so much from day-to-day; so many times over the (many!) years, I've really enjoyed a bottle of wine in a restaurant (for example), and bought another on the spot to take home. Upon "grand" opening days/weeks/months later, I've oft been disappointed; it all depends upon what your palate wants & enjoys, at the time. Oxygen & storage time/conditions also play their part. With these lower-priced wines, I don't believe at all that you get what you pay for - I think pricing is regularly arbitrary - based upon what a retailer thinks they can get for a bottle, whilst conning the buyer into thinking they're getting a great deal, by offering discounts or the like.I tend to avoid the £10 - £15 bottles like the plague. This is where so often, the customer's conned into thinking these MUST be better quality, because they're double the price. WRONG! wrong, wrong wrong on so many occasions! This is what I call the con-zone! If you like Chardonnay, and want a treat, buy yourself a nice bottle of Puligny Montrachet - premier cru, or even grand cru if you can afford it - but don't throw away your hard-earned by being pulled in by the advertising crooks. It should be noted, by the way, that I'm talking about retail purchase in shops/supermarkets/online etc - NOT restaurants or the like, because the owners of these establishments invariably put a hefty mark-up on their wines, such that a £5.99 bottle in the supermarket (which they'll probably buy-in at £2.99) will routinely appear on a wine list at £17.95 or worse! Just saying...To sum up: I've enjoyed 2 bottles out of my case of 6 of this wine, so far, and I'm judging this to be a great bottle, for the price.

Delivery driver was an absolute pain
Love the wine over last couple of months my third case of six was delivered on Friday after big argument with the delivery driver I am 79 years old but he insisted that I needed an I D card before he would let me have it wanted my birthday date showed him my bus pass but not enough for him in the end he out it down I took it in surely if you look over 18 which I obviously do he should have just left it without question

Nice wine but not the superior one ordered, feel ripped of by Amazon
Really really nice but disappointed with Amazon not McGuigan wines. BEWARE AMAZON DO NOT SEND WHAT THEY ADVERTISE and actually do not do much when you complain. The picture on the order shows as 2017 vintage but the description states you are ordering 6x2016 vintage so the taste is superior. However, what arrived were 6x2019 McGuigan black, not vintage & certainly not what was advertised. Although the wine received was good, fruity, smooth & mellow the 2016 you thought you would get, that was shown, would have been even nicer. As I did not notice this until opened first bottle, Amazon advised this is my fault, could not send back as ooenrdy & offered me £10 credit. Really!! Their mistake but won't admit to it & ive now got decent wine but not the superior one ordered. Is this false advertising? Amazon don't seem bothered, nice wine, but if you want the superior 2016 advertised ON the order then prepare to be duped

Wrong vintage year & alcohol strength.
After opening the first bottle I noticed that the vintage year was 2018 and that the alcohol was only 12% instead of 13.5% as stated in the description. Decided to keep it as had opened a bottle and would cost to much in p/p to return. Drinkable but that's about all - you can really taste the lack of body compared with the 13.5% version - will probably give it away as Xmas presents - to people I don't like. Cheers.

A very easy and pleasant wine to drink.
A very easy and pleasant wine to drink. I bought this case of wine when it was first on offer. I am not a red wine drinker but my husband is. I looked at the reviews before buying and it appealed to me that that most people described it as "easy" or "pleasant". He confirmed that it was a none thinking enjoyable wine. Since buying a number of bottles he has actually gone off some of the more expensive wines that he use to enjoy. The only niggle I have is that they seem to be increasing the price each time we buy.

Definitely changed!
Have Bought this wine for over a year now and up until my last delivery, last week it's been fine, a bit fruity and on the sweet side. This batch is not the same. There is the same slightly sweet taste, but no where near as smooth. In fact rather a metallic taste at first. I noticed the award labels have shifted to the other side of the bottle, definitely not the same quality as the previous years. Quite quaffable with food, but a bit "tinny" on it's own. Very cheap, so you get what you pay for.
