ZignatureDuck Limited Ingredient Formula Dry Dog Food 12.5lb

Don’t purchase the kangaroo flavor!!! There are lentils in this and the combination of kangaroo and lentils can cause heart failure in dogs!!!! I found out the hard way☹️ My baby is in heart failure and the cardiologist showed me research on the combination 😢😢

I asked if this food was Chinese when it first came out and got a ton of flack from the distributor. I had ordered a bag and nowhere on the bag did it say, "Made in the USA". I threw it out. Now, it turns out that this food accounts for the second most occurrences of congestive heart failure in dogs. I'm so glad I was vigilant. We consumers must all be vigilant about our dog's foods! Turns out grains weren't so bad - potatoes and peas and chickpeas may be worse!

This food almost killed my dog. He went into heart failure from low taurine induced dilated cardiomyopathy. The FDA has released several statements warning against many of the ingredients in zignature (and other foods) as a link to heart issues in dogs. Please check with your vets before feeding this.Edit- my sweet boy was part of study. His DNA was tested and it showed no genetic link to heart issues. Do not use this food!

We have been very happy with Zignature Trout. My 1 dog has very bad allergies, so after doing research online about some of the causes of food triggered allergies, we decided to try Zignature. We needed a food that did not have corn, wheat, chicken or potatoes. Trying to find a potato free dog food is challenging- there are not a lot of brands that are potato free. My dog has much less itching & her ear infections went away after starting her on this food. She likes this Trout & Salmon, & we've also tried the Zignature Whitefish (my dog likes that as well). I definitely recommend this food: seems to have good quality ingredients & I like the fact that its potato free.Ingredients: Be sure to read the back labels of any food or treat you buy. It's very helpful to research ahead of time before going to a store or placing an order online, to know exactly what ingredients are in your pets food. Often times, issues such as itchiness, loose stool, & digestive issues can be solved by providing a good quality food (without all the filers). It truly makes a difference. Take a look at Zignatures' website because it has a lot of info about what exactly they put into their food. Unlike many other manufacturers, Zignature uses meat & fish as their main ingredients. (When reading a label, the items listed first on the label are the largest quantities of that item.) Many other manufacturers list a carb as some of their first ingredients, or corn, corn gluten meal, etc. Cheaper quality food will contain more fillers.Also important to note: Compare the feeding instructions when comparing food & costs. Some of the brands you always see commercials for (which are junk foods) will have feeding quantities that can be up to twice more. Thats because that food is filled with filers & items that offer little to no nutritional value for your dog. With better quality food, you feed less. My 35-40 lb dogs eat 1/5-2 cups a day.Highly recommend Zignature Trout & Salmon for dogs that have sensitive stomachs, who have allergies (or possible food sensitivities) that are shown with itchiness & possible digestive issues, dogs that need a potato free diet, & for anyone looking to feed a quality food with healthy ingredients. My 4 year old golden retriever has been healthy forever minus some allergies. Switched to this to hopefully get rid of allergies. 4 months later she’s at the vet with Dilated cardiomyopathy and at risk of total heart failure. As many others have said, there are lots of FDA warnings about this. DO NOT FEED!!!

After 3 years of horrible itching solved only by Apoquel meds, I am extremely happy to say that my dog is off the Apoquel as well as all other required supplements and ailments just to prevent itching so much (coconut oil, probiotics, etc). He just gets Zignature Whitefish dog food twice a day and he itches MAYBE 2 minutes in a 12 hour period. That's beyond incredible. Worth every cent. The only downside which I don't care about is that he has bigger stools now. The extra clean up is worth it to have such a happy, comfy dog! (Bluetick Coonhound/German Pointer cross).

A veterinarian told me that a recent FDA study showed that grain free diets can be fatal to your Dog. The Vet said "Zignature is one of the worst " of the grain free diets. CBS News also did a story on this. Dog owners, please talk to your Veterinarian to get their opinion about Zignature dog food and grain free diets.Amazon, if you delete this important review information I will write an Op Ed piece for the N.Y. Times discussing Amazon censoring important health information for a man's and woman's best friend. This is one of the few brands out there that doesn't contain potatoes and chicken.I first tried Zignature venison but the kibble at the bottom of the bag were too greasy, and my dog for some reason was still itching, but maybe it was too soon to see changes. Then, I decided to try the Kangaroo Formula, (he likes this one better) and I can see It has helped a lot my allergic dog, (Chihuahua and JRT mix) his ears cleared up for the first time and they have stayed that way!He used to spend most of the day licking and scratching like crazy but not anymore! The itch has been reduced a lot and his hair grew back in those parts where he scratched the most !!!I am very, very happy with the results. Now I rotate this food with another brand every month, I don't want him to get tired of this one.Thank you Zignature !!!!

My dog was diagnosed with severe IBS and this product was to be within the 1-10 brands. It made my dog worse. It has by products in it that are not labeled. So now I am on the search for another brand. A blue Heeler is an Australian Cattle dog and should only eat high protein meat foods. This did not sit well with her.

My German Shepherd has had skin allergies for the past 4 years. We have tried many different allergenic dog foods, raw diet, apoquel and cytopoint injections. Since putting him on this dog food he no longer requires medication. This dog food has finally given our loyal pup comfort and saved us at least $250/month!

My 2 dogs love this food. It is easy on their stomachs, they had no trouble getting used to it when I first switched. It comes in several flavours- basic formula is the same, so you can switch to a different one without causing upset tummies. It is made from natural ingredients, so it is a healthy alternative for your dog. Also, it is recommended for both puppies and adult dogs, so no need to change their diet as they get older. Best part is- I winter in the US, and I can get it shipped to both countries.

Great food, my frenchies love it! Also we recently moved to a small town from Vancouver BC......so ordering food from amazon is fANtastic!
