Putting the judge himself on the witness stand, she demonstrates that Raj is not a born criminal but a victim of circumstance and parental prejudice. The climatic scene where the father and son come together is truly heart wringing. Beautifully photographed by Radhu Karmakar, the film is set to music by Shankar Jaikishan. The film features the memorable all-time hit songs: Awara Hoon (Mukesh), Dum bhar jo udher mu phere (Lata and Mukesh), Ek bewafa se pyar kiya (Lata), Hum tumse mohabbat karke sanam (Mukesh) and the soul wrenching Aa jao tadapte hain armaan, ab raat gujarne wali hai (Lata).

I hear the word “Zindagi” a lot.Could we create it?Could we fight against it?Or, should we find it as it is?Should we let it be?Such a big question.I’ve been seeing lots of people are struggling with that.Is it only in films?This grand classic made me tense throughout the story.The zindagi of the good people should have been happiest.A small accident or a mistake changed them all completely.Could we come back to the right path?It’s not very easy we can see.Still can we?My learning about India goes on.

A true classic of Indian films. I have shopped around for this for years. In fact I have been to many asian shops but I was kept told that it would be impossible to get the English subtitlle version. Then I gave up but sometime in 2007 I found it on Amazon and I was the happiest. Both Raj Kapoor and Nargis was magnificent in this film. I even watched it with some friends too. All enjoyed it.

Most disappointed with the product. DVD title displayed is by Yash Raj films but the one sent is by Shemaroo, which is of a far inferior quality and the DVD is faulty. Do not buy from this seller unless you feel like wasting your money.
