On October 6, 2025, after using the grip for some time and contacting the vendor who demonstrated how to update the firmware, I’m updating this review to include new insights I’ve gained about the grip. I purchased the grip for my brand-new iPhone 17 Pro Max, which hasn’t arrived yet. However, I’ve been using it with my iPhone 15 Pro Max without the cover that came with the grip. The grip is well-constructed, made of lightweight aluminum, and feels sturdy in my hands. Follow the instructions for pairing and ensure that Zoom is enabled in the iOS accessibility menu. The box also includes a screen protector, which was a pleasant surprise. I haven’t used the case yet, but its lightweight aluminum construction fits very well with the grip. The grip worked seamlessly with my existing MagSafe case. The buttons function well with the iOS Camera app, but when it comes to using them with Blackmagic or Final Cut Camera apps, only the record button, which is the most crucial one, works. Telesin has indicated that a future firmware update may enhance its functionality. To update the firmware, download the free “ReefColor” app by Telesin and ensure that the grip is connected to your device. The system will automatically detect if an upgrade is needed and prompt you to proceed. The ReefColor app is a simple camera app that offers several features, including the ability to re-map the Grip buttons’ functionality. However, its most important feature is the ability to update the firmware if necessary. The Grip’s battery is designed to provide a small battery boost during recording, but it’s not a reliable power source for extended video sessions. For instance, it charged my iPhone 15 Pro Max from 30% to 60% while the phone was off before it completely drained. As per the iPhone battery settings, the battery starts charging in fast mode and then switches to slow mode. For long video sessions, I connect external power directly to the phone using a right-angle charging cable that keeps the cable out of the way when in landscape mode. When I receive my iPhone 17 Pro Max, I’ll be able to record lossless landscape or portrait mode regardless of how I physically hold the phone since it has a square sensor. If you’re looking for a sturdy and well-built grip, this is definitely recommended. I use it to shoot photos and videos for short, occasional sessions. However, when I need to record a long video session, I usually screw it to a tripod and connect an external power source directly to the phone, and I’m all set. The magnets are very strong, and I feel comfortable not dropping the phone, whether I’m holding it or on a tripod.

I’m seriously impressed with the TELESIN Magnetic Master Grip. It says iPhone 17 but I’ve been using it for my iPhone 16 without any issues. It instantly transforms my phone into a DSLR-style camera setup and makes shooting photos and videos feel far more stable and professional. What a scam! I will rate no star if I can. I had a really high expectation on this accessory for my new 17 pro max. The case is super super hard to put on. It’s made by hard plastic with shape edges and there is no flexibility. It scratches the corner of my phone when I tried harder to put it on. Once it put on, the power button of the case can’t be pressed. And it keeps waking up Siri accidentally. The buttons, zoom lever and mode dial none of them work except the capture button. What you get is just a 3500mah power bank for $99. Really disappointing. Don’t be fooled by its design and influencers online.

From a build and value standpoint, this is the best of the various phone camera grips I have tried. The added battery is a nice plus. But, unfortunately, the software really doesn't allow you to take advantage of most of its capabilities. The interface with the stock iPhone camera app is minimal, and the company's Reef app is mostly trash. So, I have a nice grip with a shutter button, but I really can't easily adjust zoom or exposure in a real camera app. If they could resolve the interface with the iPhone stock camera app so it could map to tools like exposure and zoom, it would be much better. Hope they're working on that.

I really enjoy my Telesin Magnetic Master Grip Kit for my iPhone 17 Pro Max. It easily attaches magnetically to my existing protective case, and makes it much easier to hold when taking photos or videos. The grip has a place to put your thumb when holding the camera with the grip on, which also help align the grip to your phone. The handle appears to need the supplied adapter case, but I did not plan to use it any way. The controls feel firm and do not feel cheap. All in all the grip is very well made. You use the free ReefColor app to setup some of the grip functions. You are supposed to be able to update the grip firmware via the app but I have not yet had to do that. The grip comes with a tiny user manual that is written in several languages. That is fine, but it is so small as to be almost impossible to read. The website user manual is a web page, and one of the essential instructions (how to turn the grip on) is found later down the web page though the setup instructions earlier on the page assume you know how to turn the grip on and off. It took some searching to find this key piece of information. I wish the user manual that comes in the grip packaging which is well written was available online to download and keep for reference. That would make it possible to refer to those instructions when not on your laptop. It would also make it easier to study the grip's functions. As with any new piece of hardware it has a small learning curve but once you get use to what you see on your iPhone screen and where settings are (the ReefColor app has its own settings on your screen), the easier it becomes to use. I am definitely looking forward to using this, especially for video.

Der Griff liegt sehr gut in der Hand und macht das Smartphone sofort deutlich stabiler beim Fotografieren und Filmen. Verarbeitung ist hochwertig und das Design erinnert stark an eine DSLR. Positiv ist auch, dass er nicht nur mit dem iPhone genutzt werden kann, sondern mit allen Smartphones, die eine MagSafe-Hülle haben, z. B. auch mit dem Samsung S25 Edge mit entsprechender MagSafe-Hülle. Abzug nur wegen des etwas höheren Preises, ansonsten ein sehr cooles Zubehör für mobile Fotografie.

El producto va más allá de lo que te esperas. ergonómico y práctico... Si lo que necesitas es utilizar tu teléfono, como si fuera una cámara fotográfica este es el producto adecuado ya que te permite configurar la botonera sujetar el teléfono de una forma muy ergonómica con su empuñadura y además tiene el extra de una batería incorporada que suministra energía al teléfono para cuando lo necesitamos. Recomendable 100 × 100

Although I haven’t had the chance to use it yet, the build quality and finish give me full confidence that it will perform excellently and provide complete satisfaction. I’m so impressed that I’d like to purchase an extra case as a spare if it’s available. Highly recommended!

El agarre magnético es de aluminio y se ve bien construido y de calidad. Lamentablemente para su adecuada sujecion se requiere usar la carcasa que viene incluida y que se siente de un plastico frágil que no parece proteger el iPhone, y sobre todo, no cubre completamente todo el teléfono, dejanado el borde desprotegido. Se incluye un cristal protector, que supongo pretende cubrir la parte que deja descubierta la carcasa, pero la pantalla tiene un borde negro que obstruye la pantalla. En la descripcion del articulo, se dice que incluye un filtro para la lente, que no viene y por otros comentarios, parece que la omisión no es exclusiva de mi pedido. La bateria es muy limitada en capacidad, por lo que resultaria mas conveniente eliminarla para restarle peso al agarre.
