In northern Australia at the beginning of World War II, an English aristocrat inherits a cattle station the size of Maryland. When English cattle barons plot to take her land, she reluctantly joins forces with a rough-hewn stock-man to drive 2,000 head of cattle across hundreds of miles of the country's most unforgiving land, only to still face the bombing of Darwin, Australia, by the Japanese forces that had attacked Pearl Harbor only months earlier.

I like Comedy Romance and Romance Drama and Historical Drama. This has all of these. I loved it. Great story, romance, history as it was in Australia until 1973, and a happy ending. Glad I added it to my collection.

Great viewing despite some critical reviews elsewhere.
I just visited Australia and New Zealand in January. Loved the trip and the places visited. New Zealand was infectious. But in Australia we didn't get the right feel for the country.Couldn't readily find a good book to read on Australia. So I purchased this dvd.The way the movie is shot is breathtaking and you do see the country as it was and as the aborigines lived there and how the melded or not.The movie was excellent. Performances from Sarah Ashley, Drover, Fletcher were all riveting and relevant. The best performance was from Nullah the half white, half aboriginal young boy. He made the movie.And will forever remain in my mind as one of the best young actors I have come across in a long time.

Película que no había visto y la compré por recomendación.La verdad es que está bastante bien, es entretenida y graciosa. Pero estoy harto de que las películas no las hagan en pantalla completa, aunque aquí Amazon no puede hacer nada... ¿o si?

j'ai vu ce film au cinéma,et je voulais absolument le revoir,et le revoir encore....la prestation des acteurs représente tout ce que j'aime... l'aventure,l'émotion,l'action,l'humanisme,l'amitié,la confiance et bien sur l'amour dans son plus bel écrin....quand on connait un peu l'histoire de ce pays,et l'histoire tout court du siécle passé on est plongé presque dans le documentaire....belle fresque sur fond de douleur ,d'amour et de passion...!
