The 1 for UNightgowns for Women - Womens Nightgowns, Amanda 100% Cotton Gown

This is exactly what I wanted. The weight of cotton used is perfect and the eyelet lace is wonderful. This is a far cry from the bound-to-pill synthetic knit nightgowns on big box shelves. The cotton breathes wonderfully. I am a fiber artist and textile enthusiast, and it’s so nice to have a nightgown is made thoughtfully out of decent materials in a way that says someone gives a damn. It will wrinkle, but that’s a small price to pay for a nightgown so lovely.Now, size notes...as others have noted, this particular style runs very large. I noticed the armpit/sleeve is cut what I would call correctly- as in it shapes the top despite the wide neckline rather than being a sad bat-wing affair like many modern tops. So do keep that in mind when choosing sizes. The Large I ordered seems very roomy but I’m not sure, with the neatly done armpit, I would be all that comfortable in a medium. I am 185 lbs, 5’ 4”, with a 44” bust measurement at the time of this writing. The flat measured with of the horizontal eyelet. trim on the Large size of this nightgown is 22”.My only issue with this gown may or may not apply to you and your size. I’m a fat woman with big boobs, so I’m quite used to waistlines sitting closer to my nipples than my navel, when braless. A sad fact of life! I bought this model rather than others from the same maker, because it did not have an empire waist or no waist (neither is a flattering situation for me). I still adore this one but I will admit, the distance from the neckline to the waist seems rather shorter on me than the model! I’m not sure if the bodice length is the same on all sizes, creating a boxy upper in the larger sizes or what. But certainly on me the bodice is wider than it is long. So not so flattering for the girls in a sleep-ready braless situation. But it could just be my anatomy/size. The distance between the neckline (not including the eyelet trim) and the waist trim is is exactly 8”. At the 22” width this looks much more like an empire waist than the small size does on the model, but I don’t have a small to compare for myself. I don’t find the oversized width to overall be a bad thing. It’s a nightgown with no stretch, so bigger is much better than fitted.Overall I love it and will order other styles from this designer in the future.Oh, and I thought it was a nice touch that the nightgown came in a sheer little bag with button closure. Very sweet. I am thankful to the designer for making a product that fills a very rare niche and does it so wonderfully.

I have 8 of these white cotton lawn gowns by The 1 for U. I love all of them including this one however, this one in particular, runs large. I wear a 10-12 in clothing and I always buy a large in these gowns but as I said, this one is extremely large.Other than the fact it is too big, the quality of the fabric, the workmanship and all else is absolutely wonderful, as is all of their gowns. Love them!

I absolutely love this gown.. The material is exactly as stated, cotton. Not some mixed fabric that grips around the waste of hips or breast. Did I say I LOVE this gown? The manufacture took extra care in sewing this well. I always wash my gown and under garments as my other clothes with dawn and fabric softener so I'm not sure if this was nearly as soft and comfortable without fabric softener but when these come out to the dryer I put them immediately on a hanger to reduce the wrinkles cotton create. After hanging they are as nice as the other nightgown or loveseat I already have (let's say more than 2 or 3 in each color. Wearing something this comfortable after wearing sticky, form fitting work clothing makesS life so much bearable and is worth every garment I own . I hate to admit this but after a long hard day at work, I take very little time to slip into one of thes gor the rest of the evening.If someone pops by I grab the matching houseboat and all is well. Non see and still comfortable, NON See through. U can't go wrong.I

This lovely nightgown is beautiffuly made, with sweet little details everywhere. It's roomy enough to feel comfy, but not so billowy that you're swimming in it. I wear a 14-16, bra size 36G, and the XXXL is a good fit, with some room to spare. My favorite features are the pockets and the bodice with the tie front. The front portion is thick enough for modesty if you're not wearing a bra but still light enough for warmer nights. It's also such a pretty nightgown that it could pass for a summer dress. This is a high-quality garment at a pretty good price. Highly recommend!

When I ordered this, I ordered a small but they sent me the wrong size, a 3XL. So I had to go through the hoops of returning it. Thankfully it wasn't that bad of a process and I got the correct item quickly.Now that I have the "correct" size...this dress is absolutely beautiful, but runs way too large. I'm 5'8, 110 lbs (modern US size 4) and it looks very unflattering on me...I will need for it to be altered smaller if I want to wear it. A shame, as the dress is very classy and pretty. The cotton it is made out of is also very nice. However I have higher hopes for the other nightgowns made by this company...the 2nd photo is showing how much extra fabric the dress has.

I really like this nightie. I am 5'6", 140 lbs. and the medium fits well. As I like loose fitting nightgowns and PJs, I ordered the large but was swimming in it so sent it back. It is very soft and comfortable and fairly thick so probably best for air conditioning or cool summer nights. At $30 it was a good deal but the normal price of $40 is a tad high.Update: lost it in a house fire and think I’ll replace it so my sister can repeat how I look like I’m going for tea with the queen. 😀

This was the only gown I kept from the 1 for U collection. I really liked the design of the ruby gown, but the ruby was cut a lot shorter in the breast area than was pictured. This gown is very flowy and on my curvy 5' 6" frame it came almost to my ankles. It is comfortable and has the room needed to lounge and not feel constricting. I love the pockets. My only complaint at all is that it is a little tight across the chest area. I am a 42 D and most of the 1 for U collection seems to be made for women with very small breast. A little tweaking on the design and these could be really great gowns, but with the seams that define the chest area almost coming up to the neck area I found them to be uncomfortable and not very flattering.

I deliberately buy night wear two sizes up as I love loose sleepwear. These are absolutely gorgeous. Very detailed and the cotton is a superb quality!I bought one in white, blue and pink, and love them all.Thank you 😊
