Great pot; terrible documentation!
I just got this and I loved it right out of the box. It is nicely made and it works great. I do have one big negative and that's the documentation. Simply put, it's terrible. They left out two of the biggest and most important bits of information. They didn't mention the red light on the start button and what it means when it is flashing. And they didn't mention that if the light on the steep timer is flashing, then it is not yet steeping and you have to press it again. You learn these things by accident, only when you haven't done something correctly and you have to figure it out on your own. That part annoyed me a lot, but once I figured it all out, I fell in love. It makes perfectly brewed hot tea and it can keep it warm all day as long as you know which button to press and when. So read on for some helpful tips. Before you press Start, when the unit is on, the white lights are all solid. When the Start button is properly activated, that light changes to red and it blinks intermittently. When the unit finishes heating the water, the lights are all solid white again. You have to press the steep time start button and then the small LED in front of each steeping minute will blink as it counts down to show the progress. When it finishes steeping it automatically goes into a keep warm setting for 30 minutes. You only know this because the Start button light starts intermittently blinking red again, but this time it's to let you know it's in keep warm mode, the other button lights all turn off. If you lift the pot at any point after Keep Warm turns on, the warming function automatically turns off. You can see that the lights all goes dark when you lift the pot and then back to white again when you place the pot back down. In order to reactivate another 30 minutes of keep warm, you have to press and hold the Temp/Keep Warm button for two seconds until that light goes off and the Start light on the right starts to blink red again. You can keep a pot warm all day as long as you reactivate the warming function as I just described. It's ridiculous that the manual didn't explain this and it was beyond annoying that the quick start card never mentioned it either. But in the end, I still love my new tea brewer and it works like a charm!

Great Tea
I love this tea pot so much! I didn’t love it at first though because the function isn’t intuitive and the directions don’t begin to explain how to use it properly. I had to use it and find out by trial and error how to get the perfect pot of tea. I bought this because I am making the switch from coffee to tea and it has made the transition easy after the first week or so. Some other reviews mention rust, and I did get those spots but they aren’t rust, they’re just tea stain. I bought a long handled brush and some vinegar to keep my pot pristine. If I ever need another, I might check out the cuisenart brand just to see if it’s more intuitive, but I wouldn’t hesitate to buy this one again since I already know how to use it.

A top quality electric tea kettle
I love it. It doesn't look very big, but it heats enough water for a single cup/mug or enough to fill a tea pot. It heats the water to just the right temperature with 5 temperature choices. Then it steeps the loose tea or tea bags to your time preference and lets you know when the time is up. It also keeps the pot warm for a half hour with the option to keep it warm for an additional half hour. Breville is a quality product which is reflected in this tea kettle. You'll love it too.

Well made, terrible instructions
I got this for my wife who's an avid tea drinker and my opinion on this is mixed, hence the 3 stars. Pros: Compact, looks nice, well made, easy to clean and makes great tea. Cons: The instructions are terrible and the controls aren't intuitive enough to easily figure out on your own, the infuser doesn't sit low enough to easily brew 2 cups and it's pretty expensive for what it is. Overall I'm keeping it and once my wife figured out how to operate it, she's happy and making tea frequently which tastes much better than just from a kettle. That said, it's frustrating that such a simple appliance is far more complicated to use that it should be.

Love Breville products - Very well made - good quality
This teapot is great ! Love Breville products. They are well made and last a long time. This has a low profile and works really well. Easy to set up and use. I would buy this and other products again. I hope this will last me for several years to come. Worth the money and if you see a special or have a coupon - consider buying Breville.

I like the tea that this makes very much, but agree with another reviewer that the documentation is a little lacking. There are a lot of buttons to push and it's not clear at first what's going on. But I got the hang of it quickly enough. The main thing I'd say is that at this (very high) price point, I would expect an exceptionally well engineered product and it is not quite that. At various points in the process, you have to pull the infuser out of the pot. The infuser hangs down from the underside of the lid of the pot, to which it attaches magnetically. In turn, the lid + infuser sit inside a metal rim that fits into the circular opening at the top of the glass kettle. At various stages, you have to take out each of these three things -- lid alone, lid + infuser, metal rim (for cleaning) -- and unfortunately it can be very hard to get just the piece you want. I am often trying to get the lid + infuser but end up yanking the rim off with them. Or the infuser won't come up attached to the lid (I just get the lid). Maybe I'm doing something wrong but the instructions need a rewrite if that is the case. I like this a lot though. Being able to keep my tea at a perfect temperature as long as it takes me to drink it is wonderful. EDIT: I’ve figured out that if you never push the lid all the way down, but instead just let it rest where it sits when you drop it into the rim, the problems are largely solved. The problem is, I guess, that the metal rim expands when it’s hot, making it hard to pull the lid out without also pulling the rim off. With that caveat I would raise it to 5 stars since otherwise it’s excellent.

Bought this to replace our "not so old" Delonghi hot water kettle that collapsed after 8 years of use. Was impressed by the cute and compact design of this product. It's a perfect size for tea lovers. The glass body looks really good and the product itself is very well made and looks quite durable. It is also very easy to clean as you can basically remove all the parts easily. Will buy again.

I have used it 3 times only, but as you can see in the picture seems the bottom is not clear anymore. I can see some white and brown dots. Its so annoying can anyone help?
